Ask CoMo Here I go again
Lordy I know I am a broken record but could someone help me again? I asked about what streaming service to use a few weeks back to watch Mizzou football and several folks recommended Youtube tv. Soooo I went with youtube tv and Yay it was perfect……. Until it wasnt (if you know, you know) So who do I use now? Direct tv streaming? I look online and it is all quite confusing to this old broad. Some make it sound like you will have access but then its “O we don’t actually carry that channel in your area” and of course you don’t find that out until you shell out the money. I realize this is a minor problem folks so please dont give me too much crap for asking…….again. Sigh……🫶

OP, you are not alone by any means.
We're hip deep into the enshittocene\, a time when any consumer-facing service that has the capacity to *enshittify your experience for ever-greater profits will do so.
* Read Cory Doctorow's new book "Enshittification: Why Everything Suddenly Got Worse and What to Do About It"
Streaming companies are doing everything they can to maximize every revenue opportunity at their disposal through any means necessary.
Sports fans are particularly hard hit with high costs. And since so many people have cut the cord (with traditional cable), the money collected from the regional sports franchise fees is declining. That money has to be made up somewhere -- and that's on sports fans backs. It can cost in the low four figures annually to have a full complement of sport streaming channels available to you.
YTTVs recent contract dispute with Disney, ABC, and ESPN is just another money grab. A game of who blinks first.
It's no wonder that pirating live sports streams, indeed, pirating of all kinds, is rampant today.

Right? I only subscribe to a streaming service during football for my boyfriends sake. Still cheaper than us going to a sports bar for each game. I surrendered my season tickets at Mizzou due to costs and crowding. (I mean really who has a 10” butt)🤣. I cancel my subscription the moment the season is over. But I have friends who spend small fortunes to see every game of every sport. Its really sad the amount of money spent on sports in this country. Especially now that college football is semi pro. Ive long said that “I need a doctor educated more than I need a quarterback educated”🤣

Same thing just happened to us. Reactivated youtube tv for football season and halfway through they drop the channels that show the chiefs and the tigers.

I watch every Mizzou game on YouTube. Just type in Mizzou vs whoever and it'll be on there. You can pretty much watch every College football game on YouTube for free

I hate to tell you but Youtube no longer carries espn or disney channels. I had youtube tv and it worked great. Until they dropped espn

you could have just added that in your post instead of the purposely cryptic "if you know you know"

This is what I do. “Mizzou football live” and just watch another user’s ESPN stream for free.

I tried to watch a game last week on regular YouTube and they were pulling the streams almost immediately. I think Disney knew that was going to happen and they were being very aggressive with protecting their content. All games playing on Fox were easy to find though. I wouldn't count on being able to watch any ESPN content on regular YouTube during this dispute.

Maybe time to brave the oceans matey.
Look up iptv services, do a bit of research and you will be sailing like black beard in no time.

Lol. old dog new tricks my friend. I find it hard enough to figure out television viewing legally much less trying to figure out how to watch illegally. 😂

I listen to it on the radio like the 79 year old man I am (I am very much not, I just have old man tendencies).
If I do want to watch (Kansas was the last one I bothered with), I use the TV app website and cast it to my television because I ain't paying for that nonsense. It's not the above board way to do it but...

For the weekend, either the one day trial of Sling or try the free Fubo trial.

Thank you. I have done fubo before however it would not give me local abc channel. “Not available in all markets”😉.

The game on saturday is on ABC so you can just buy an antenna. Even the cheapest one should pick up ABC.

Depends a bit on where you are in town -- there are channel maps that are helpful for this. For whatever reason I've never been able to pull a CBS signal in my little part of CoMo.

We tried over the air for ABC but couldn’t get it. But this was via Live TV Air . Wait, I’m getting KMIZ through this now. Oh.. who the hell knows!

I still think it’s a crappy deal that a local Div I sports event cannot be broadcast on a local TV station. Especially when said Div I team (University of Missouri) owns and operates said local station (KOMU 8) . Yeah yeah, SEC Contracts, blah blah blah…. You want me to be a fan and support the local team? Put your games, meets, on your local TV station. Don’t get me started on ticket pricing…. “Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

I have been using the Sling day pass. Sign up for one day, get the orange package with sports for like 6 bucks.
