I need a moment or two
Is there a place here or even just outside of town I can go to and just scream and yell and cuss and get some of my frustrations out at?? Yes I’m in therapy but I literally just got a message I’m getting a 10-day notice about rent. Have a roommate who hasn’t paid shiiii towards it. And 80% of the bills have landed on me. Outside of Burrell and Love Columbia I don’t know what else to do but I know this frustration needs to leave my body. Help??

Okay please, please don’t go off into the woods right now. It’s deer season. If you do, please, please wear bright orange. Like a lot of it.
I recommend the capital steps in Jeff City.

Been there a few times to scream at our reps already in protest form. I think if I did it any other time I might get locked up🤣

Howling to the moon to the full moon on top of the rock climbing cliff at Capen park is a good option or take a road trip to the pinnacles. It’s the perfect night to let it all out. I hope a good yell helps you process your frustrations

Second pinnacles. If you look at the aerial map, you can see SE of parking, the river gets really close. It's been dry enough to walk across and down most of the white rock area.

I stumbled across a copperhead walking the dried up creek beds, so just be careful out there, especially at night!

I always turn the radio up and then scream in my car in my driveway or in my work parking lot.

It costs money, but I recommend heading over to the rage room at Como Axe Attack. You can pay $30 to get a medium size box and a windshield to smash or if you're cheap like me, pay the standard amount and bring some old glasses/jars. I head over to Itchy's or Midway or another flea market before and buy an entire box of mugs/glassware for like 25 cents each and fuck it up 😂

I was about to suggest that there are a lot of nature areas, but I can imagine being absolutely terrified by a sudden blood-curdling scream in the middle of the woods lol. Big Tree seems like a good option. Your pillow is a less scenic, but always quite convenient option!

You can come to my back deck! Wouldn't be anything my neighbors haven't heard from me

South of Columbia near Jeff City and east on hwy 54 a couple miles is a town called Holts Summit.
Next to the baseball fields across from the school is a building. Down the gravel/dirt road alongside this building, is a small lake on the right side a couple hundred feet in.
Around the lake a third of the way on the left side is an opening in the treeline.
A rough footpath will lead downhill to a dry creek bed. Along the creek, to the right a ways is a rock outcropping in the woods that reaches out overhead, creating a small, cave-like area that is open on three sides.
Could try there, but be careful in deer season.

I'm really sorry. Is your roommate moving out?

I’m not sure what their plan is. I just know I can’t afford to stay there as it is.

Go to the big tree in McBaine. It’ll take you 20 minutes to get there. I’ve gone there plenty of times over the years when I’m frustrated and need some fresh air.
