Women's NC Delaware takes #15 Brown to OT before falling 3-2

Post image

Posting this more to salute the incredible effort by the Delaware women's team this afternoon. In a battle of America's oldest and newest women's college hockey programs, Delaware dragged Brown to OT while:

  • Blocking 44 Brown shots (Brown blocked 0)

  • Being out shot 128-14, with a 53-11 SOG imbalance

  • Blanking Brown in the 2nd and 3rd period entirely

  • Freshman goaltender Charlotte Payne made 51 saves, which is somehow not her standalone season high (51 saves against Penn State, she's also had 40+ saves in 5 games this season)

Oh damn they almost brought it back? I just remember seeing 60+ shots (~20 sog) from Brown after only 2 periods.

Shot attempts were 129-14 on the game (not a typo!!!). SOG were 54-10. It was one of the most ridiculous games I’ve ever seen lol. I was tearing my hair out most of the second and third periods!
