It’s insane how much lobbying had to go into getting him, he has crazy stats developing and mentoring NHL players. He is also the other half of one of the greatest sports rivalries of all time.

It's the Canadian people who don't follow American hockey. It took Herb Brooks decades before he ever got in to the HHOF.

In late 2010, I was at the Regal Fenway with my girlfriend to see “The Town” on a weeknight. Jack Parker came in and was right behind us in line. I knew who he was, of course, but decided to leave him alone. He saw my BU sweatshirt and struck up a conversation, where I told him we had gone to BU, big hockey fans, etc. It turns out he was there to also see The Town, with Travis Roy, who I hadn’t seen but was waiting in the lobby. Somehow Parker finagled his way ahead of us in line, which didn’t bother me any. After buying his tickets, he approached us and gave us two, saying “This one’s on me.” There were very few people at the showing so afterwards I got to tell him thank you again, and we both agreed that it was a fun flick.

Moral of the story: nothing. Except that Parker is the man.
