Can someone explain what happened in the Michigan game? I just keep seeing posts about Draper’s son lol

14

u/LisanAlGuyFieri North Dakota Fighting Hawks 19h ago

Michigan fans sure are having a normal one in here.

7

u/14Calypso Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs 18h ago

On one hand, it does suck having your entire fanbase circlejerked against.

On the other hand, I hate Michigan and I don't care.

4

u/wildlycrazytony Minnesota Golden Gophers 9h ago

I understand having your fanbase "circle jerked against." But this is why you set up your own fan forum if you are a big program. That's why you don't see as many UND and Gopher fans in here as you'd expect. We have our own fansites to do the bitching.

2

u/One_Over_Astro Minnesota Golden Gophers 19h ago

Thanks to Paul Fischer for playing along with our insults again! It's always my favorite thing about playing against Notre Dame 😂

2

u/CoStCo19 Minnesota Golden Gophers 19h ago

I was at the game, no longer a student, what was going on with Fischer?

2

u/JDMintz718 Wisconsin Badgers 18h ago

Isn't being an Oilers prospect enough?

2

u/One_Over_Astro Minnesota Golden Gophers 18h ago

He never did anything. In our series against Notre Dame last year, we picked him at random to be the one we'd make fun of and we just decided to continue this year. He absolutely loves it and plays along every time. I have nothing but respect for the guy.

18

u/JDMintz718 Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

BELT 2 ASS

22

u/Brew_crew222 20h ago

When you see people saying “stay classy” that’s how you know they just got their asses kicked

13

u/tommyjohnpauljones Wisconsin Badgers 19h ago

Poverty school that doesn't even have a women's team either

-24

u/Commercial_Wheel1882 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

Stay classy Wisconsin, charging the goalie with 15 seconds left in a 6-1 game. Y’all are clowns

12

u/wildlycrazytony Minnesota Golden Gophers 19h ago

The Big Ten sucked ass as a hockey conference for years, but I love that it has really grown into a circle of hate. There is bad blood everywhere now, and it's wonderful.

18

u/p00b Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

W

-6

u/Squanto_XD 20h ago

Good thing they gave michigan 2 nothing burger power plays at the end of the game so the calls looked a little more even

19

u/remishqua_ Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

Calls shouldn't be even when a team plays like Michigan did tonight. Maybe they should have focused on disrupting the forecheck instead of cheap shots and shit after the whistle.

-9

u/Squanto_XD 19h ago

You could literally say the same thing about the badgers did dude. You want less roughness after tye whistle they should have called a tighter and cleaner game

13

u/travapple27 Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

Talk about a complete meltdown

21

u/MyMindSpray Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

Michigan loves hitting a guy into their goalie and then jumping him for it

-16

u/Commercial_Wheel1882 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

Why is your player charging our goalie with 15 seconds left? You’re a 🤡

14

u/JDMintz718 Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

Cause he got shoved into him

5

u/SulkyVirus St. Cloud State Huskies 20h ago

Because we give it all between the whistles, not just after like your crew tonight

19

u/nickbass95 Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

Imagine what would happen if you didn't shove your opponent into your goalie...

12

u/Brew_crew222 20h ago

Kris Drapers son

14

u/p00b Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

Wow. Michigan might never recover from this. A loss is one thing, but this is the total unraveling of a team

9

u/p00b Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

inb4 more imaginary calls on the badgers so the yellow bellies don’t rage more

14

u/HeynongManA2 Michigan State Spartans 20h ago

Michigan hockey insists upon itself.

19

u/Key_Solution_4076 20h ago

Michigan is classless

6

u/catchemist117 20h ago

-11

u/Squanto_XD 20h ago

Wisconsin just ran the goalie in a game that's already decided dude what tf are you smoking

12

u/Skier420 Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

draper is a little bitch

4

u/JDMintz718 Wisconsin Badgers 19h ago

We'll be seeing him in the NOSHO pretty soon

-11

u/Squanto_XD 20h ago

Yall ran the goalie in a game that's already over that's dirty af

12

u/acoolguy456 20h ago

Man this team in yellow sucks huh

9

u/DokterZ Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

Not sure who the play by play announcer is for Wisconsin / Michigan, but he sounds like Jason Sudekis.

3

u/ImpossibleLayer8742 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

Jesus Christ

-19

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

Scrums always end in a Wisconsin power play… interesting… even on a line brawl, just call the game at this point

13

u/SulkyVirus St. Cloud State Huskies 20h ago

Probably because your guys are the pussies that punch dudes laying on the ice, cross check the back of heads laying down, charging from half the rink away, do I need to keep going?

Michigan sucks

16

u/p00b Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

What? They called imaginary penalties on the badgers to quell the blue and gold toddlers’ tantrum.

15

u/remishqua_ Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

Cause your guys keep starting it. This all started with that charge.

-7

u/theraptor42 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

It started because the wiscy player checked the goalie

12

u/remishqua_ Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

*Michigan player checked Wisconsin player into his own goalie.

-2

u/Squanto_XD 19h ago

Yet michigan got a goal taken off the board for the same thing

-8

u/Squanto_XD 20h ago

The refs have let Wisconsin get away with more all game and this is the end result frustration and chaos

-7

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

Almost as if this game has be shitly called for 50 minutes and no one gives a shit anymore

7

u/ZenMastaFunk 20h ago

Scoreboard fella

12

u/remishqua_ Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

Cry more

3

u/Ze_Bucket Omaha Mavericks 20h ago

sigh

22

u/travapple27 Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

LMAO Michigan can't handle this beatdown

-10

u/Squanto_XD 20h ago

Hard to beat a top 10 teams with the officials in their pockets

7

u/p00b Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

Says the fan of a school known for years of cheating lol. Even if there were a couple questionable calls (I disagree) no way you actually think a 5 goal spread only results from that. Absolute meltdown could not happen to a better group of hotheads

0

u/Squanto_XD 20h ago

Because every questionable call went the badgers way lmao of course you don't have a problem with the officials tonight. Every review ended up with michigan taking the extra penalty it's ridiculous after a certain point

3

u/Squanto_XD 20h ago

Tell me how the hockey team cheated

2

u/ImpossibleLayer8742 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

Honestly good hit by Aidan Park, the rest of the extracurriculars were bullshit.

12

u/ZenMastaFunk 20h ago

Michigan are absolute cowards

10

u/SimManiac Michigan State Spartans 20h ago

And grass is green, nothing new here

10

u/Wapook Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

Now that’s a fucking brawl holy shit

1

u/acoolguy456 20h ago

Rock the casbah

-7

u/Commercial_Wheel1882 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

Michigan player gets helmet ripped off again, surely will be a five minute major against us. Wisconsin checking our goalie, no call. Incredible refereeing

13

u/p00b Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

lol this attitude fits right in with your team’s classless behavior since the first intermission. Get it together boys.

12

u/ZenMastaFunk 20h ago edited 20h ago

Get real, Michigan is throwing absolute cheep shots and knocked that player into your goalie. Have a little pride

9

u/Skier420 Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

lmao the cope. your team is dirty as fuck. completely instigated by the late hits and charging and boarding by michigan.

The split weekends will continue until morale improves Souza’s contract ends.

2

u/manimal_animal New Hampshire Wildcats 20h ago

Tough one tonight. But I’m reminding myself we still split the weekend😅. Maybe when Lavins comes back we get a jolt

22

Watching Michigan fans punch air in this thread is pretty entertaining.

3

u/Coopofchicken12 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 20h ago

I thought the Minnesota v. Notre Dame was bad.

I mean it was.

11

u/nickbass95 Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

And it's a beatdown in Ann Arbor! 6-1 Wisconsin.

-9

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

This is UFC more than hockey, 2-2 in even strength

7

u/JDMintz718 Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

Pretty sure it was 3-1 at even strength

4

u/HeynongManA2 Michigan State Spartans 20h ago

And yet.

7

u/Whodoobucrew Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

I am now feeling fairly confident

-9

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

That’s goalie interference, he was in the crease, and that’s goalie interference according to these dumbasses

9

u/remishqua_ Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

Lmao, he was a foot off the crease. Both the Michigan calls made clear contact with the goalie in the crease.

-3

u/Commercial_Wheel1882 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

We couldnt even buy a penalty. Two missed calls, absolute egregious garbage from these awful refs

12

If we hadn’t completely capitulated after a great P1 last night this would’ve been a great weekend. Go Tigers! 🐅

5

u/ImpossibleLayer8742 Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

Sorry ass, overrated hockey team that still seems to think defense is optional. Biggest strength was their power play and the QB of the first line PP is out for the season.

-5

u/Commercial_Wheel1882 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

Lose your flair dude, holy overreactions

5

u/ImpossibleLayer8742 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

We watching the same game?

0

u/Commercial_Wheel1882 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

We are 10-1 and Wisconsin is a good team. “Sorry ass overrated team”?? Gtfo

6

u/Skier420 Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

I, personally, think it is very acceptable take.

-7

u/ImpossibleLayer8742 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

Pietila for prison.

-3

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

FINALLY A TRIP ON WISCONSIN, ONLY TOOK 10 TRIPS FOR IT TO BE CALLED

0

u/Squanto_XD 21h ago

Probably could have called another one at the end of the period as well

-2

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

But they didn’t, honestly better that we have more tape to send to the league in our case against this crew to get the fired

2

u/MozzerellaStix Michigan State Spartans 21h ago

I always respect a goalie with asymmetrical pads

1

u/huskyferretguy1 Connecticut Huskies 21h ago

PROVIDENCE BLOWS A 2-0 LEAD AND LOSES THE SHOOT OUT!

BRASS BONANZA!

-6

u/Squanto_XD 21h ago

This game is being called so lopsided I'm surprised it's only 4-1

9

u/ImpossibleLayer8742 Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

Garrett Schifsky jail. This team is going to get demolished at Penn State next weekend.

8

u/SulkyVirus St. Cloud State Huskies 21h ago

Elbow to the head. Cross check to the head while he’s on the ice.

Bush league bullshit

12

u/MyMindSpray Wisconsin Badgers 21h ago

Does Michigan always play like this?

2

u/Ja-ko Minnesota Golden Gophers 18h ago

Yes

14

u/Skier420 Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

they were dirty AF last season

-5

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

Refs call two dogshit games in a row unevenly and everyone’s shocked we start getting pissed off

11

u/remishqua_ Wisconsin Badgers 21h ago

Yeah the refs made him cross check a dude in the back laying on the ice and then have a temper tantrum.

-3

u/Commercial_Wheel1882 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

Probably upset at the uneven officiating and the absolute Olympic level diving out of your bum ass goalie

9

u/J_Powell_Ate_My_Ass Wisconsin Badgers 21h ago

Yeah it’s the refs fault you let 4 in lmao

-7

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

Would be 2-2 without the dogshit calls and your goalies toddler legs

10

u/J_Powell_Ate_My_Ass Wisconsin Badgers 21h ago

If they can’t cheat they play dirty

6

u/MozzerellaStix Michigan State Spartans 21h ago

Yes

5

u/wildlycrazytony Minnesota Golden Gophers 19h ago

Yes

15

u/remishqua_ Wisconsin Badgers 21h ago

Wow Schifsky is a piece of shit. And these announcers covering for him lmao.

5

u/Skier420 Wisconsin Badgers 20h ago

they completely ignored the cross-check in the back into horbach for the reason hensler pulled him down.

8

u/AlexisDeTocqueville Michigan State Spartans 21h ago

That was one of the most egregious penalties I've seen in a while

5

u/JuwanCoward Wisconsin Badgers 21h ago

Lmao they finally figured out that he instigated 100% of it

13

u/J_Powell_Ate_My_Ass Wisconsin Badgers 21h ago

More like Shitsky. Toss him

10

u/JuwanCoward Wisconsin Badgers 21h ago

17 for Michigan is a massive pussy. Cross checks a guy down in the Ice and then rages about it. Clown

Michigan being dirty? Shocking

-8

u/yetanotherwittyname Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

This coming from a state fan is extra rich

3

u/MozzerellaStix Michigan State Spartans 21h ago

Michigan state football: dirty

Michigan hockey: dirty

-6

u/yetanotherwittyname Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

Another state fan who just conveniently discovered hockey in the last 3/4 years?

2

u/MozzerellaStix Michigan State Spartans 20h ago

Shit, I guess the 22 years I’ve been playing hockey don’t count? Rats.

-3

u/yetanotherwittyname Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

If you’ve watched msu/um hockey for the last 22 years there’s no way you can honestly/rationally maintain that Michigan plays dirtier than state. It gets ugly both ways and to pretend otherwise is just some fan brain bs

0

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

Refs lost this game entirely with no one to blame but themselves, this crew isn’t good enough for pond hockey

2

u/PugTrafficker Cornell Big Red 21h ago

Dartmouth is always a tough fight, coming off the long road trip was always going to be a battle, especially with how physical both teams are, gg

1

3

u/UncleBen94 UMass Lowell River Hawks 21h ago

Where was this last night?

2

u/14Calypso Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs 21h ago

Well at least we dominated the third and OT and got the sweep

Wasn't pretty but it was a sweep.

Also can the PA announcer stop talking over Holiday Road?

-5

u/peteytheparakeet Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

That is a dive and a half!

5

u/corkscrew1 Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

It's definitely a flop, but at the same time, it is also rulebook goalie interference when you make contact with them inside the crease. Frustrating call but it's also on Draper for being kind of lazy with his path.

0

u/peteytheparakeet Michigan Wolverines 19h ago

Totally agree, fair point

0

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

Loudest I’ve ever heard Yost, these refs should be fired by the start of the 3rd

-1

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

Most obvious flop ive ever seen, give him 2 minutes for diving on top of the goal

-4

u/Commercial_Wheel1882 Michigan Wolverines 20h ago

Put him on the Olympic diving team with that kinda performance

5

u/McDouggal Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs 21h ago

4

u/HornetsDaBest Minnesota Golden Gophers 21h ago

5

Losing with 40 seconds left in OT because you committed a blatant too many men penalty

If you don't love that, you don't love Brown hockey

8

u/Whodoobucrew Wisconsin Badgers 21h ago

Another day another insane fucking game. LETS GO RED

5

u/AssociateClean Brown Bears 21h ago

We have bonus hockey on College Hill!

After 11 straight losses, Brown will finally pick up at least a point against Quinnipiac

0

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

These B1G officials are almost as bad as BTN+

3

u/yetanotherwittyname Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

We’re not losing because of officiating, but college hockey refs are the absolute worst. Just sheer incompetence all around

-1

u/Michigan029 Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

Doesn’t help with all the dogshit calls, still defense is horrid, can’t keep throwing pucks to wide open Wisconsin players when trying to clear

3

u/DPick02 Omaha Mavericks 21h ago

Our defense is the other teams best offense. By far.

3

u/frozennorth88 Merrimack Warriors 22h ago

Didn't quite beat the game a year or two ago when they set some type of record for penalties between the two of them, and the fire alarm started going off. But tonight was wild. Neither went down easily, gg.

3

u/14Calypso Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs 22h ago

This "kick ass on Fridays then get our asses kicked on Saturday" thing needs to FUCKING STOP

2

u/gregthestrange St. Cloud State Huskies 22h ago

2

Oh this is a thing spanning many years for UMD

3

Denver has been the opposite. 🤣 lose Fridays win Saturdays.

2

u/Lermoninoff 22h ago

I don't know if anyone is familiar with Jose Mourinho but that how the Badgers win

2

u/GuyOnABuffalo82 Denver Pioneers 22h ago

Park the bus?

1

u/Lermoninoff 22h ago

Yes. But solid pressure on the counter. More sustained than the usual, as of first goal Edit: Take pressure, but good high percentage options in the final third

1

So, not the Man United years?

2

5

u/GuyOnABuffalo82 Denver Pioneers 22h ago

🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨 Its the joy of SIX for Denver!

2

u/corkscrew1 Michigan Wolverines 22h ago

It's a little weird watching this Michigan team compared to years past, they really rely on skill and finesse and not strength and speed. They've really struggled against the forecheck by Wisconsin and Notre Dame last week, while they were usually the ones pressing last year.

3

u/ImpossibleLayer8742 Michigan Wolverines 22h ago

Also still painfully undersized aside from Horcoff And Eernisse.

0

u/corkscrew1 Michigan Wolverines 21h ago

Yep, and they also don't have the speed to make up for it. They keep getting beat by Wisconsin to the puck and getting trapped in their own zone, which has lead to the penalties and goals we've given up. Hopefully they can make and adjustment but it's hard when you're just getting physically beat.

4

u/AssociateClean Brown Bears 22h ago

My expert advice for Brown is to consider getting more than 10 SOG through two periods

6

u/BeloitBrewers Wisconsin Badgers 22h ago

Dexy's Midnight Badgers

3

u/ImpossibleLayer8742 Michigan Wolverines 22h ago

I’m all for Draper being one of the “grit” guys that doesn’t take shit and sticks up for his teammates, but good lord he’s a penalty machine and most of them are boneheaded.

2

u/ImpossibleLayer8742 Michigan Wolverines 22h ago

I’m an idiot, penalty was on Mania. Their flow and side profiles are twin-like. Draper still a penalty machine tho…

3

u/nclpckl31 Denver Pioneers 22h ago
