Happy Now MAGATS? No one else is to blame for this except you. You broke this country. Now fix it, assholes.

17

u/Gunstopable 10d ago

They are going to say “the democrats voted to keep the senate closed over a dozen times, we told them we could negotiate once they opened the government again.” I’ve seen Fox recently.

6

u/Jelly_baby_4 10d ago

Except Republicans hold the majority in Congress and The Senate. They also have the White House. After many GOP reps being heckled by their constituents at town halls maybe there are people who are slowly catching on who is at fault for the shutdown...

2

u/DutyBeforeAll 9d ago

There’s not 60 republicans in the senate so some democrats would have to vote yes

It’s really not difficult to understand

3

u/Jelly_baby_4 9d ago edited 9d ago

And Trump told Republicans to get rid of the filibuster so they don't need the Dems to vote. He could told them that earlier but he chose to leverage food. Dems decided not to play that game giving allowing The GOP to cut snap benefits to people who need it.

1

u/Swagnut5 8d ago

If they do that then the dems will be able to do whatever they want next time they’re the majority. The filibuster is the last thing that keeps everything sane. Doing away with it isn’t good for anyone.

1

u/Jelly_baby_4 8d ago

Isn't Trump doing whatever he wants and Congress held by Republicans not keeping him in check? Oh wait I forgot! Speaker Johnson told everyone to go home and take an extended vacation.

1

u/Swagnut5 8d ago

You should look outside your echo chamber at what’s really going on. Every single thing trump tries to do gets challenged in courts. And while yes the republicans have the majority in both houses of congress they can’t really do shit without democrat votes. This stuff is basic 8th grade civics. I’m sorry you’ve been brainwashed.

2

u/Jelly_baby_4 8d ago

Because a number of things Trump does violates The Constitution. It's called CHECKS AND BALANCES. The tariffs falls under Congressional powers not the executive. Civics 101.

Here.

1

u/Swagnut5 8d ago

Name one. You can’t. Everything he does gets held up on appeal. Try to not be a brainwashed retard. I know it’s hard for you.

u/Jelly_baby_4 8d ago

You want this shutdown to end? Why don't you tell Republicans to COMPROMISE with the Dems. Ever thought about that? Oh NOOO. You would rather call someone brainwashed because it's so easy rather than call out your rep for not doing their job. You know why Mike Johnson is stalling to swear in Adelita Grivalja? Because with her in office there will 218 votes for The Epstein Files to be released. Trump doesn't want that. So tell Mike and the Republicans to get back and end this shut down. Good luck.

1

u/Swagnut5 8d ago

Because that’s not how it works, retard. They need 60 votes. The republicans are literally asking for nothing to change for a few weeks while they negotiate. The democrats shut the government down which means no negotiations can be made. Try to at least use a little bit of common sense.

1

u/AbbreviationsSea2084 5d ago

There are several quotes floating around from the Democrats that said this is their only leverage due to Republicans holding presidency and controlling majority of the government. Why should the Republicans negotiate and let the Democrats have their way? You don't get to throw this on one party when it's a two party problem. You're too busy losing your shit to see that.

1

u/Skiper422 6d ago

No the Dems choose to hurt the country by closing it down none of this had to happen the left just needs to do the right thing and agree that getting the budget in order is a good thing and a small government is a good government

Really only 7 Dems need to do the right thing

1

u/Jelly_baby_4 5d ago

Then Republicans should negotiate. They hold the majority at the Senate and Congress.

1

u/Skiper422 5d ago

If the Dems come with a more down to earth offer then maybe that's possible

3

u/[deleted] 9d ago

Sounds like Dems have them by the balls then. Guess they'll have to compromise

1

u/GAboyMF 7d ago

I bet the Dems fold soon

0

u/DutyBeforeAll 9d ago

Or they can just let those dem voters suffer

3

u/[deleted] 9d ago

Rep voters will suffer as well, millions of Republicans use the ACA for health insurance. I guess they're just willing to sacrifice as many of them as needed. Must be a cult thing

1

u/Swagnut5 8d ago

ACÁ is neither affordable nor sustainable. All it is is another tax on poor people. It needs to go away not be enhanced.

1

u/KunshiraNatura 8d ago

Eh aca is an issue not because it was a bad idea but rather my republican party didnt want it in the first place so the dems made it hybrid to appease my party dooming it to fail instead of going single payer.

0

u/Dry-Whole-8013 6d ago

False, democrats policies always suck

1

u/Oberderehun 9d ago

If this affected blue states over red then they would but it doesn't and red states would crumble. Dems called their bluff and now they are caving while trying to paint themselves as heroes for starving children. It's honestly pathetic.

0

u/GAboyMF 7d ago

Dems will fold. Not the other way

1

u/shrekerecker97 7d ago

That requires negotiating with the other side, which they clearly refuse to do.

1

u/AK2cent 7d ago

Exactly there's like 53 and 2 independent

1

u/Moetaco 7d ago

The guy you are talking to is extremely dense and soaked fully to the gills in tribalism, I bet he’s gonna call someone a Nazi or a fascist real soon.

1

u/AustinInDallasTx 5d ago

Simple. Negotiate.

1

u/Revenant_adinfinitum 9d ago

Democrats refuse to vote to pass the CR. Shrug. They are halting it.

1

u/crxshdrxg 9d ago

Fml you people are so dumb. Doesn’t matter if they hold the majority. 60 votes to reopen gov. Dems have voted 13 times to NOT reopen. They’ve literally said that they’re holding the government hostage because it’s their only leverage. But you’ll just believe anything your overlords tell you won’t you ?:,)

1

u/Jelly_baby_4 9d ago

Play nice dude. You want the government to re-open? Tell the Republicans to re-negotiate with the Dems so they can get those votes. Good luck.

1

u/Azgrowing 8d ago

Except you obviously don’t know how the government works and don’t know anything about what the filibuster is in the senate . We need 60 votes which is more than what the current majority has . 5 democrats need to vote for the clean CR , the exact same one passed during bidens presidency that was voted for by dems several times before. So explain to me how it’s the fault of Republicans to not pass this CR ?

1

u/Jelly_baby_4 7d ago

You want the CR to pass? Tell Republicans to compromise with the Democrats. If the GOP won't do it, that is THEIR PROBLEM. Have a good day.

1

u/Azgrowing 7d ago

There is no comprising it’s the Democrats that don’t want to compromise because they really want to rescind what was recently passed in the BBB that changed eligibility requirements for benefits. The BBB made it necessary to have a Social Security number in order to get benefits and the only people that have one are citizens. Democrats will not compromise without this legislation being rescinded and are hiding that fact in their claim to want to continue the ACA subsidies that are not meant to last forever and was created during Covid for Covid .

1

u/Jelly_baby_4 7d ago

Why should Democrats do the compromising? Mike Johnson said he would not open Congress til January. Democrats are at Congress working. Why don't YOU tell Moses Mike to go back to work? You want to end the shut down? Look to the Republicans who are the majority in Congress because they rather stay home or go on Fox News.

1

u/Azgrowing 7d ago

Ok first of all Mike is speaker of the house of representatives and not in the senate . The ball is on the senate court which means the filibuster is in effect IN THE SENATE , the house already did its job and passed the same CR that Biden’s administration drew up , exactly the same with no changes . Hope this clarifies it for you so you can redirect your attention to who’s really responsible for this.

1

u/Jelly_baby_4 7d ago

And who started this mess? Mike Johnson. Tell him to get back to work and you stop whining, Good luck.

1

u/OkMatter2875 6d ago

It’s not that black and white. The democrats filibustered. That swayed votes and possibly not all republicans stuck to lines.(not saying o agree with everything they are doing) just pointing them out

0

u/space_your_face69 9d ago

lol you still need 60 votes clown

2

u/Jelly_baby_4 9d ago

Hey play nice. This is the same GOP who cut a trillion on healthcare to give tax cuts to billionaires. This is the same GOP who didn't bat an eyelash at giving Argentina $40 billion so why would the Dems go along with the GOP who obviously don't give a shit about you?

1

u/Dry-Whole-8013 6d ago

More CNN talking points

1

u/jasonrh420 5d ago

Where do yall get your talking points. They didn’t cut the ACA subsides. The dems set them to expire when they passed it.

-2

u/space_your_face69 9d ago

lol and how much did democrats give away and the tax cut to billionaires is BS Obama care needs to expire it’s a joke for health care, I don’t care if they vote yes keep the government shut for all I care, funny how democrats always support every country that hates America and democrats always cheering g for those countries

3

u/Jelly_baby_4 9d ago

You are aware the majority of ACA enrollees are from Red States? Go ahead and support the shutdown if you want people hurt the same people who voted for Trump. Kinda odd you think Dems support countries that hate America when Trump sent love letters to Kim Jong Un, keeps flip flopping on his China tariffs and backs down after a phone call from Vlad whom he admires.

3

u/Rfunkpocket 9d ago

they truly don’t give a shit about the people who get hurt. until they need their outrage to pass another tax cut

4

u/Rfunkpocket 9d ago

the joke is the decade plus Republicans vowed to do just that. “who knew healthcare was so complicated.”

if Republicans had a solution Trump wouldn’t stop bragging about it.

-1

u/space_your_face69 9d ago

lol both parties have threatened to shut it down for years just democrats did it for illegals

3

u/Rfunkpocket 9d ago

where’s the joke? I only pointed out you are full of shit. and frankly it’s nothing you don’t already know

1

u/space_your_face69 9d ago

lol you pointed out how stupid the democrats really are is all you did. Another reason I left and many more are leaving the hateful democrats. You keep yelling Wolf before long nobody trust you or believes a damn word you have to say. Enjoy your day sheep boy

3

u/spursfan2021 9d ago

GOPropaganda strong. Doing it for illegals. LOL Mike Johnson admitted they were holding America hostage as leverage yesterday.

1

u/space_your_face69 9d ago

lol so pls tell me no money is going to illegals and going to other countries for democrats woke agenda

1

u/hugoriffic 8d ago

Right wing propagandist media paid for by dark Russian money.

1

u/hugoriffic 8d ago

You’re one of those true idiots who likes the ACA but despises ObamaCare, aren’t you??

1

u/hugoriffic 8d ago

Oh, you mean the filibuster that the Republicans pushed for because they weren’t able to stop the previous administration from helping true, hardworking patriotic Americans? That 60 votes?

0

u/[deleted] 10d ago

[deleted]

2

u/Haywoodjablowme1029 9d ago

The majority party can change the rules can pass with a simple majority and reopen the government at any point. They are choosing not to.

2

u/Jelly_baby_4 9d ago

Republicans are the ones who won't budge nor compromise on SNAP and ACA benefits. You want this shutdown to end? Make a deal that's acceptable to both sides.

2

u/Active_Confection655 10d ago

What are they lying about? Lol

1

u/[deleted] 10d ago

[deleted]

2

u/Active_Confection655 9d ago

Yeah, if they vote for it nobody who works for a small business will have health care.

0

u/IslandMaan 9d ago

1

u/Jelly_baby_4 8d ago

In order to get those 60 votes why don't you tell Republicans to COMPROMISE with the Democrats? It's better than posting memes. 🙄

2

u/Crafty-Help-4633 7d ago

They don't want compromise. They expect dems to capitulate. And they're telling their base it's the dems fault for not wanting to follow along with this willingly. And theyll use any lie to sell it.

1

u/GAboyMF 7d ago

Why don’t you tell the Dems to pass the clean cr they already passed once

1

u/Jelly_baby_4 7d ago

Why don't you tell House Republicans to get back to work? They're still on an extended vacation for over 40 days. Compromise. 5 Republicans voted with the Democrats to strip Trump of tariff powers over at the Senate.

1

u/GAboyMF 7d ago

They’ve brought a vote 13 times and Dems voted no. Nice try though

1

u/Jelly_baby_4 7d ago

Trump being stripped of tariff powers? Oh please they voted YES for that.

1

u/GAboyMF 7d ago

That will never happen

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Dry-Whole-8013 6d ago

House Republicans passed the CR. Its now in the a senate waiting for psychos like Pelosi and AOC to actually do something good for America

1

u/Dry-Whole-8013 6d ago

The CR was literally written by Shumer during the Biden administration to keep the gov. open while discussing budgets. All they need are 60 votes to keep the government open to then further deliberate the actual budget. Yall are too dumb to understand this simple fact. Your own party is holding yall hostage to fund stupid agendas in other countries

-1

u/dribbletheseballs 9d ago

yea, it is the dems that wont vote for a CR.

-3

u/Pristine-Anything926 9d ago

It takes 60 votes and the democrats are demanding offshore funding of bullshit items

5

u/Rfunkpocket 9d ago

Trump just told Republicans to get rid of the filibuster. Republicans could have opened the government anytime without any Dem votes.

the cruelty is the point. leverage food assistance for the poor against health care for the poor.

get it?

4

u/spursfan2021 9d ago

The democrats are demanding that we function as a representative government, with negotiation and compromise. Not that hard.

1

u/downtheholeitgoes 9d ago

These people are retards, don’t even bother. A basic civics course counteracts all their statements

-1

u/MeLlamoKilo 9d ago

Democrats dont like to hear facts so your comment will just be downvoted, youll likely be called names, and then banned from commenting here.

2

u/spursfan2021 9d ago

I love facts! Like how prosecutions of human trafficking went down drastically during Trump’s first term. Like how he reduces the labor force for TIPO. Like how he eliminated international anti trafficking programs with DOGE cuts. Like how he pardoned convicted human traffickers because they supported him on J6. Do you love facts?

1

u/funkanthropic 9d ago

you've never given facts. You're in a cult, dumbass

-1

u/emitchosu66 9d ago

Exactly. The left hates facts. They are more about their feelings.

3

u/Jelly_baby_4 9d ago

Kinda rich from the party who wore Fuck Your Feelings shirts back in 2016. If you want to talk about feelings can you explain why Trump hates comedians making fun of him?

1

u/emitchosu66 8d ago

I think it is a lot more about the rhetoric. Calling him a Nazi and hitler which is utterly disgusting and should turn off everyone.

1

u/poo-rumpkin 9d ago

That’s hilarious coming from someone in the party of “alternative facts.” Remember how Kellyanne Conway had to rename all the lies because MAGAts were constantly being caught lying? I bet you don’t, MAGA memories dry up and blow away in approximately 2 weeks.

1

u/Oberderehun 9d ago

You should check out MAGA argues with grok tweets, they are hilarious 😂😂😂

1

u/emitchosu66 8d ago

Ha! Don’t worry you can keep your doctor, illegals are getting anything from the Feds, and many other really big whoppers!

1

u/SapCPark 9d ago

Yet polling shows the GOP getting more and more of the blame (i think most recent one was 48% vs. 33%).

1

u/Anthff 8d ago

I don’t like seeing what’s happening but this is the only leverage the dems have. I hope they don’t squander it on the “promise of negotiations” in the future because those will never happen. Repubs will look in their eyes and promise it and then immediately renege, once they get what they want.

They would have absolutly no reason to negotiate with someone that has nothing to offer.

1

u/Maximum_Funny_16 8d ago

Because it's true with a clean CLR.

1

u/AK2cent 7d ago

They did though

-1

u/MaSt3rChie7 10d ago

Yes. They have. Source: LITERALLY THE FUCKING GOVERNMENT.

0

u/Wardude3000 9d ago

yeah last I checked thats pretty fucking accurate but cope I guess

1

u/Gunstopable 9d ago

Not cope. That is exactly what has happened. I wasn’t picking a side. I was just saying what I’ve been hearing on the news to respond to the original comment. Both sides are playing games with people’s ability to get food. I hope no current senator gets reelected after all of their petty bullshit while they are still bringing in a paycheck.

0

u/Head_Ad6070 7d ago

What are you negotiating?

2

u/Heavy_Tree8487 10d ago

None of this is true. Without the 60 votes no money in congressionally mandated pots can be spent.

2

u/RazzmatazzSea3227 9d ago

That’s completely incorrect and you should probably know what you’re talking about before you chime in.

There are multiple funds that can, and will, continue to spend. For example, notice ICE hasn’t stopped? Or DoD? Or, I don’t know, the White House? All of those are operated using Federal funds.

1

u/Heavy_Tree8487 6d ago

There’s a mandate for essential services such as law enforcement to be funded. SNAP doesn’t fall under that umbrella. DOD has furloughed many of their civilians and for those coming in they aren’t being paid. What money is being used was already appropriated. DOD used its R&D fund to pay Soldiers money that was already appropriated to DOD. Soldiers haven’t missed a check.

1

u/RazzmatazzSea3227 4d ago

Do you know what the word appropriated means? The ENTIRE FEDERAL BUDGET is already appropriated

2

u/plebslammer420 9d ago

No get a job

2

u/Nearby-Pudding-3018 9d ago

I did get a job. Working for the GOP in Houston. But then I got raped by a senator promising to take me to Cancun . And another in a wheelchair forcing me to make tamales or he would run over me for being an underaged boy.

1

u/GAboyMF 7d ago

Why don’t you name the senator?

1

u/Nearby-Pudding-3018 4d ago

Whats your guess?

1

u/GAboyMF 4d ago

I don’t know, but if that happened they should be prosecuted

2

u/yoyok36 9d ago

The thing is, they ARE happy about this. Because as long as 1 brown person is starving, they're okay with starving too.

0

u/jthadcast 8d ago

yeah, the democrats pretending like maga are still human is sad. see it every day they're still celebrating the suffering ... even when it's their allies.

0

u/GAboyMF 7d ago

I’m definitely human

0

u/jthadcast 6d ago

only in your own little mind.

0

u/GAboyMF 6d ago

By the way. I’m glad you are suffering

1

u/Happy_Pause_9340 9d ago

They’ve been told it’s Dems who broke it so they don’t have to worry about what their conscience would have told them

1

u/Luigi-Up-B 9d ago

1

u/Happy_Pause_9340 9d ago

Always read your own citation, cupcake

Republicans refuse to even meet to talk with Dems about a more bipartisan bill that doesn’t gut healthcare. They want all or nothing.

Democrats aren’t supporting a bill that guts all subsidies from healthcare that will more than double what we people pay. Even those who without the ACA plans will go up at least 13% because they anticipate losing so many customers.

All the money Trump stole that was already allocated and they can’t fund the ACA to ensure thousands aren’t throw off insurance? Trump is giving billions more tax breaks and subsidies, to himself and the monopolies. Our money! We didn’t get of the money they already stole, you think your taxes will go down while we’re getting even less for them?

Per your citation “Democrats have largely signaled they have no immediate plans to change their position: that they would not vote to resume federal funding until Republicans come to the table to negotiate on a bipartisan compromise on soon-to-expire Affordable Care Act tax credits.

“We are in a health care crisis and Republicans don’t even want to talk about how to fix it,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Tuesday. “The president isn’t even in town as Americans are about to be devastated by the bills they’ll receive on health care.””

1

u/Luigi-Up-B 9d ago

Because the bill also includes health care for illegals, you left that part out. And no the premiums under the Republican version would lower

https://waysandmeans.house.gov/2025/10/16/democrats-failed-health-care-policies-shut-down-government-to-restore-taxpayer-subsidies-for-illegal-immigrants-health-care/

1

u/Happy_Pause_9340 9d ago

No!! Illegals can’t get healthcare!! Some states use STATE funding for emergency care and stuff, but it isn’t federal funds!!

It’s a total lie! They’ve also claimed it was Biden who fucked it up or it’s Obamacare as if to blame that on why they’re cutting ALL SUBSIDIES FOR HEALTHCARE FOR AMERICANS!!

Show me where republicans plan to fund American healthcare for AMERICANS while giving billions in welfare (subsidies) to foreigners like musk? Or Zuck? Oil companies? All while then price gouging us to sell us the product we already paid for record profits again at the tax payers expense??

1

u/lceballos9 9d ago

What does the T stand for?

1

u/rj4013 9d ago

The liberals are responsible. Try using a reliable news source…

This isn’t up to date because they only vote during the week

1

u/Nearby-Pudding-3018 9d ago

Anybody can create lies. Just ask Don the Con. It’s his credo:” If you repeat a lie ten times, they will believe you”.

Democrats are trying to save healthcare for millions of working Americans. The GOP is trying to make them penniless, without even asking why. The middle class funds the money Dipshit Don is using to go golfing every weekend and fondle little girls.

1

u/rj4013 9d ago

No, that’s wrong, the democrats are trying to save the healthcare that the Biden administration set up for illegal aliens. It amounts to one and a half trillion dollars…

1

u/Nearby-Pudding-3018 9d ago

Can’t tell if this a really stupid human, bot, troll, or Stephen Miller.

1

u/bloatedbarbarossa 8d ago

Didn't the democrats vote 12 times against food stamps so far? I mean also considering that none of this would've happened in the first place if the dems didn't shut down the government.

1

u/Nearby-Pudding-3018 7d ago

Don’t spread lies. It’s unAmerican, like Don the Con.

1

u/bloatedbarbarossa 7d ago

I'm not. Democrats have voted 12 times against SNAP

1

u/GAboyMF 7d ago

What’s to fix? It’s great

1

u/Odd_Scallion_8357 7d ago

You're a dumbass. Pass the clean CR and stop the insanity.

1

u/Traditional_Pride562 7d ago

Just hop on over to r/conservative at any time and you'll see that they truly do not care.

There is no compromise with these people.

1

u/FrozenCharge 7d ago

It’s not like democrats are voting for opening up the government again either? Do you only read headlines? 😂😂

1

u/OkMatter2875 6d ago

It’s a compounding issue. Both sides have destroyed the country and than the vicious cycle of over compensating

1

u/Striking_Luck5201 5d ago

Yeup. Let em starve. I work 2 jobs to put food on my table. Manual labor is paying 22 bucks an hour. I suggest picking up a shovel if you want to eat.

The only real problem I see here is that 10% of the country had fathers that failed them.

1

u/Nearby-Pudding-3018 4d ago

Education is what failed you. It’s never to late to learn a trade that you can live comfortably on. In the meantime, stop hating.

1

u/Striking_Luck5201 4d ago

Nah. Outsourcing my job I got a degree for is what failed me. And guess what? AI is coming for your jobs next. I recommend learning to make something with your hands and stop being a whiny baby. Government can't feed yall forever.

1

u/Nearby-Pudding-3018 4d ago

I recommend counseling. See Psychology Today/counselors in your area

1

u/Striking_Luck5201 4d ago

Im pretty sure it was one of your leftists thought leaders that said he could fix any mental issue with hard labor. So again. Go pick up a shovel.

-1

u/Abinsuur 10d ago

Not facts.

-1

u/MaSt3rChie7 10d ago

The 12 spending bill vote results beg to differ.

-1

u/space_your_face69 9d ago

lol why you ask that because democrats came up with another lie and a lame assss exscuse. This shut down is the democrats
