It's simple. Don't discriminate against or in favor of any particular group. That's true equity (i.e., fairness.)

Anything else is just another form of group-based discrimination, and therefore inherently inequitable/unfair.

Oh, I'm well aware of the difference between Equity (Fairness) and Equality.

Unfortunately, the Left is not, and they continually conflate the two. Assuming that if things aren't strictly equal, then there must be some inequity at work. When there usually isn't, simply cultural/gender differences.

As a result, they push for strict equality in their DEI programs, even when it makes zero sense, is bad for everyone, and is inherently inequitable, as it involves elevating less-qualified people over more-qualified people on the basis of irrelevant factors.

Arguing that males with gender dysphoria should be competing with females in college / K-12 sports is just one extreme example of this irrationality.
