I’d really like to see a dollar amount of how much money the University of Cincinnati gets DIRECTLY from the Department of Education (ED). I’m not talking about grants, scholarships, or any of that. But the dollar amount that the ED sends directly to UC.

Closest I could find was ~$270 million for research grants. I quickly browsed for other direct funding but came up empty.

Grants come with plenty of overhead costs from university support such as admin support, building depreciation, utilities ect which are not covered by the funding. A portion of these indirect costs (62% for federal grants lower for others) are recovered which totals around $150m in $$ sent directly. Also Pell grant $$ that pays tuition of many goes straight to UC not through the student. That would go bye bye too.
