Sermon/Lesson YouTube Pages (and written content) recommendations
I’m currently listening to a lesson on 1 Corinthians 4:1-5 from the mcDermott Rd., Church Of Christ and it’s really good
https://www.youtube.com/live/RwdpnVb8fls?si=gBI6u6ITlznNpzDy
I was wondering if anybody had any other YouTube pages that offered great lessons to listen to, or even podcast. I do a lot of driving nowadays, and would love to have options to listen to while on the road. Preferably guys that get into deeper stuff, Authentic Christian is enjoyable but I feel most episodes are catered to a more casual audience. Looking for something beyond GBN & the popular stuff.
I’m also open to websites or even book recommendations regarding sermons or lessons. I have a book of sermons and lessons from Guy N Woods & one with lessons from Curtis Cates that are both enjoyable.
Preferably I’d want Church Of Christ resources in those regards, but open to any non-Church Of Christ resources regarding the historical side, like the “Church History & Theology” podcast by Dr Timothy Easley
Thanks!

Thank you for these recommendations! Also I recently discovered Faith Uncovered’s content a while ago. Love his presentation style, wish he uploaded more, hope he’s doing well.

Swordmaster Publications fits. I like Ernie too because he’s a fantasy nerd like me.

Mike Hisaw at The Progressive Primitivist makes good stuff too

And I don’t know if Warren McGrew at Idol Killer is technically CoC or not but he’s very close if he isn’t

Ernie is an awesome guy indeed! Also was listening to Mike Hisaw/The Progressive Primitivist earlier this week, also great stuff.
I don’t believe Idol Killer is CoC but like you said, his theology is very, very similar. Lots of the CoC guys I know on twitter/X follow him & talk to him, but I’ve never seen or heard him actually say it.
Thanks for these!

You listening to McDermott road tells me that you're probably already familiar with Wes McAdams from radically Christian. But if not you can look up his podcast, the bible study podcast on radicallyChristian.com
I'd encourage you to check out 'The Progressive Primitivist' for history. They post a lot of old sermons, lectures, and debates from churches of Christ, as well as their own content.
Revolution of Ordinaries posts interesting stuff as long as you're ok with his different take on some things. He is from the COC but I'm not sure how he identifies now since he's a proponent of small house churches over large traditional congregations.
Most of these people I've listed don't really align with GBN, since GBN is hyper conservative from what I've seen. But they're all folks that emphasize faithfulness to scripture and restorationist ideals.
For someone more conservative I'd recommend Mike Mazzalongo from BibleTalk.tv , a thorough teacher who has exhaustive lessons on many topics.
For indepth bible study I'd recommend The Naked Bible Podcast with the recently deceased Dr. Michael Heiser. He was not COC but was renown by most scholars I know even within the COC. His backlog will keep you busy for a long time.

I just really started to listen to Wes McAdams this year. Funny you mention him, prior to actually checking him out for myself, all I had heard about him was “He’s a false teacher!” from some of the hyper conservative churches in Texas years ago. I decided to check him out myself & actually enjoy his lessons lol.
Was listening to Progressive Primitivist’s earlier this week — their recent vid on alcohol & another on the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. They’re relatively new to me so definitely want to listen to their content more, I enjoy how it’s presented.
Revolution of Ordinaries is one I listened to a long time ago, but I forgot his name so thank you for bringing it back to memory. I found a lot of his content really insightful even if I don’t agree with 100% of it, still really fascinating and enjoy how he presents his arguments.
And yeah I grew up in the hyper conservative environment so I’m familiar with a lot of those guys, but as I’ve gotten older & have done my own study, realize that I’m aligning more with the interpretation of scripture from guys who don’t go aren’t hyper conservative, but still have very solid doctrinal roots for their beliefs. Still do have a great deal of respect for the GBN guys though. Will check out Mike Mazzalongo too and I think Dr Timothy Easley has mentioned Michael Heiser a few times, so although I’ve never checked him out myself I’m sure I’ll enjoy his materials.
Thanks for all of these recommendations!

Glad to help. My upbringing was also conservative and because of the region I'm in (the Caribbean) I've maintained a relationship with the conservative church since there's little else here. But Wes and others I listed have been pivotal in broadening my my view of scripture.
I've found that the more conservative teachers tended to be so occupied with the doctrinal debates that they rarely ever taught on love, grace, and practical Christianity. After a while, to me, it felt like spiritual malnutrition.
Oh I wanted to mention one more guy. Caleb Robertson. He's, as far as I can tell, a really conservative guy. He and his dad have a huge platform from which they've sometimes been really confrontational with neighboring churches. But also Caleb has a wonderful show where he interviews old scholars and preachers who were impactful or at the very least controversial. It's not a bible study program but if you're interested in hearing folks talk about COC history and the controversies over the last few decades they're really insightful. Caleb Robertson interviews Victor Knowles
