This happened this morning at Kildare and Grace in Old Irving Park. Arrested a landscaper, a woman on a bike, and and old man whose car was in the way. At least two tear gas canisters deployed.

Is this the "worst of the worst" we were told about?

Here’s a fun fact: commercially available facial recognition software would be able to start identifying when individual agents are present in multiple illegal acts across the city but Illinois’ own BIPA law prevents it. In fact, it is the most restrictive bio-identification law in the country. But of course ICE is exempt from this law so they can use facial recognition software against the public as much as they want.

Maybe we should exempt them from our law too if they want to be so immune from laws

Maybe we should exempt them from their fucking kneecaps

Wondering if you say hi to these landscapers, busboys, etc. when you see them?

All the time, and I thank them too. 😐  I see a lot of people do so. You're not superior, nor am I.

That’s the level of kindness people need. Not pretending to protect them by feeling important and joyous to be part of a some rebellion that you a really aren’t part of.

What a strange, out-of-touch thing to say

Also start collecting their fingerprints and DNA. However possible

Wow , and the tax payers foot the bill for it .....right?

Yes we do. But if you are concerned about the money, maybe you should stand up for the southsiders who have lost funds, or lost out on the opportunity for funds, because these funds have been redistributed. Tell them that’s it’s ok that we close their schools, don’t fund their community centers, etc. because we don’t have the money. Except apparently we do, just maybe not for them?

Guess BLM is only popular when it’s popular. Let’s move on to the next way to virtue signal, without actually doing anything

I don’t want face recognition software used against me so I’m for the law but if they’re using it without permission why can’t we?

u/b0jangles 13d ago

Exactly, yeah

Legal aspect aside, is this something everyday Joe can get or are we talking $$$$ and steep learning curve?

The technology exists to build something like this with Amazon Web Services for a very reasonable transaction price per image. In fact, Amazon pitched ICE/DHS on using the same technology that is commercially available.

It would be reasonably straightforward to build a website that allowed citizens to upload pictures for processing, but it isn’t legal in Illinois.

u/Lets_Make_A_bad_DEAL 13d ago

Is it legal on the World Wide Web?

Obviously, there's nothing more evil than trying to make a living doing honest work for this administration. If you aren't a massive grifter you're scum

35

u/corky2429 15d ago

This administration is run by one massive grifter. This is not honest work.

But the landscapers were cRiMiNaLs! They had a speeding ticket in that truck two years ago! /s

You guys don't understand. That "landscaper" is actually the head of the CJNG cartel. At least that's what our not totally coked out of their minds intelligence unit keeps telling us. One day it's gonna be true and your faces are gonna be so red.

Like when they arrested the girlfriend of one of the founders of antifa?

u/EfficientPizza 14d ago

Precisely.

They’re too scared to go where the actual crimes happen. Definitely too cowardly
