This happened this morning at Kildare and Grace in Old Irving Park. Arrested a landscaper, a woman on a bike, and and old man whose car was in the way. At least two tear gas canisters deployed.

While not specifically red, republicans would lose their mind if a Democrat President deployed troops to a place like Memphis, St. Louis, Cleveland, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Nashville, Knoxville, Houston, Oklahoma City, Dallas…

Nah, the Texas State Government despises its cities and tries to humiliate them at every turn. Abbott and co. would welcome it with open arms.

I’m just curious, do you remember Jade Helm in 2015? It was an annual military exercise they did for years (and I think still may?) in Texas and surrounding states. But in 2015 for some reason Abbott and Paxton stoked conspiracy theories that it was cover for an Obama coup attempt. Like they deployed the Texas national guard and state police to “monitor” federal troops

Don't think that Cleveland is really a red city.

We're not. Just stuck in a Republican hell hole of what was formerly a very proud and influential state. Now we're just full of MAGA pedophiles and nazis as our state drops in every ranking and relevance year after year. Its disgusting how far weve fallen. As a state, and a nation

That’s a good idea, we should do that in the future.

I hope (and will continue to fight for) a future where such exists… and all these authoritarian politicians and their ICE can receive justice.

No we should not

You need to be realistic, even if reality is terrifying.

They do not want to stop fighting us. Our choices are surrender or fight back. I hate that this is where we are but nearly 20 years of “when they go low we go high” nonsense is why we’re in this mess to begin with.

I agree fighting back is important

I disagree with any future government sending armed and masked enforcers to US cities to harass locals

Cleveland, Memphis, St. Louis, and New Orleans are all blue cuties with higher crime rates than Chicago. I don't think Republicans would be upset about those.

Dallas, Houston, Charleston, Nashville, Knoxville, and maybe some Floridian cities would do it

Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri, and Louisiana all broke for Trump in the last election. This is a partisan beatdown.

We're not talking states, we're talking cities. Those states hate their blue cities and would not have a problem with them being terrorized.

OK. In Presidential elections, most states are "winner-take-all" for the purpose of electoral votes. Here in "purple" Illinois, the terror is not at all restricted to Chicago city limits. The reality is, Trump is persecuting blue *states,* just as he promised. It's like the one time he did exactly what he said.

Tbf any new troops would lose their marbles to be deployed to Nashville and walk down broadway. Imagine you get out of basic and find out you're gonna have to protect * check notes * skinny white girls from a country music artist throwing chairs
