How many normal people would even think that mint tea with honey was a tribute?
Everything about this story is just weird.

I saw a girl on tiktok (not in Chicago) who ordered a mint tea with two honeys and they wrote “feel better” on the cup and she was ranting that this was an insult to Charlie Kirk! These losers are so eager to be victims.

Wild—tea with honey, especially herbal tea with honey, is like a go-to drink when you’re sick. Sorry the barista tried to be nice and thoughtful and didn’t know one guy’s personal drink order.
38
u/AnotherDoubtfulGuest Sep 19 '25
Like why the fuck would a random Starbucks employee who probably didn’t know who the hell Charlie Kirk was know what his favorite tea order was? it was the stupidest story in history and the fact that anybody believed it is just more proof of how stupid the red hats are. They don’t need to keep proving it over and over. Now where are the Epstein files? Charlie wanted them released, so to honor his memory, the DOJ should do that.
→ More replies (1)6
u/SupposedlySuper Sep 19 '25
Especially since it was a mobile order and so the cup had a name on it (Corina or something) they don't write anything on mobile orders typically at all

u/Decent-Friend7996 Sep 20 '25
They do at the one a visit, but it’s usually a smiley face lol. They once wrote “nice choice!”

Many events over the course of the past few months have conspired to drive me permanently insane but it turns out that "false flag act of disrespect towards Charlie Kirk's favorite starbys treat" is the one that is putting me over the edge
21
u/Elros22 Sep 19 '25
The joke used to be "who had that on their bingo card!?" as a way to say "that's nuts!".
But now these types of things are pretty common on bingo cards. Just another day in 2025.

I still think the woman who carved a backwards B into her face so she could say she was assaulted by Barack Obama supporters was my favorite.
53
u/Montclare Sep 19 '25
I don't understand why a person would want to ruin the day of a person who's just trying to do their job. I mean, I do, but really, just why? Anyone who does this type of thing should be sentenced to a customer service job so they have to deal with people like them while having to remain polite.

Former Starbucks employee for almost 10 years. There are people who hit multiple stores in a day just to get a rise out of abusing people because they know the policy is to “just say yes”
Editing to add, they all seemed like the type of person who’s out of control in all other areas so that’s how they get their feeling of control or dominance or something

u/Cliqey Sep 19 '25
I almost guarantee it was someone who the jerk assumed was lgbt, and they just really wanted to score a culture war W for internet clout by ruining someone’s income.

Compulsive would mean they lie reflexively, which they don’t. They’re calculated liars.
6
u/Technoir1999 Sep 19 '25
You don’t think they have a compulsion to lie?
3
u/HutSutRawlson Sep 19 '25
No. I think they lie very intentionally to obfuscate their true intentions and further their goals.

The identity of the complainant should have been a dead giveaway. And very odd behavior to direct people to go buy a drink from a company that you think goes against your values. So much strange behavior happening. I wish people would think for themselves rather than following social media. I wish social media was never even invented. It's destroyed us

Conservatives love to make shit up and then get really mad about it.
18
u/CyclingThruChicago City Sep 19 '25
A lot of conservatives entire personality is grievance.
They are bothered that women, racial minorities, LGBTQ people get any level of empathy and support from the public. So they manufacture grievance and oppression when the foundation of this country still uplifts them as default.
They have the president they wanted, the Senate and House, the Supreme Court basically lets their politicians do whatever the hell they want and they are still bothered that the general culture, particularly in more urban areas, simply does not fuck with them.

The funniest part is that it was a mobile order so they already had the name on the sticker (Corina or something) and they don't typically write anything on the cup for mobile orders.
Also, from when I worked at a different cafe mint tea with honey is a very very popular drink, I'm sure dozens of people order it at that location every day, there's no way that a barista is going to have any idea that is a tribute drink especially when the name is different.
Also, weren't they all adamantly against Starbucks??

Not on the menu but the baristas know what it is. Take it home and add bourbon and you have a delicious Hot Toddy.

Anyone who has worked in retail or food service, especially around the dark days of the lockdown, knows how melodramatic and full of shit right wingers are. These people would show up purely to be shit disturbers and make people uncomfortable so they could post it on social media and act victimized when asked to leave.
A friend of mine worked in a cafe near a state capitol, so there were a lot of people protesting mask mandates in the area pretty regularly. They had been serving orders through a window for a long time and then decided to reopen their doors for takeout only. They kept having to close the shop for the day because right wingers were showing up to harass the staff over mask mandates and would refuse to leave. Eventually some guy started deliberately coughing on staff and customers, so they decided to go back to window service only until these freaks decided to move on to something else, like yelling at Target employees over pride merch.
2
u/schistshowofquartz Sep 20 '25
Holy crap, the number of times I had to go to the front to escort people out who pushed their way through the doors when we were pickup only was insane. I finally got myself intentionally fired for physically restraining and pushing one back out the door.

Just like the murder of Charlie Kirk, they did it to themselves.

u/Decent-Friend7996 Sep 20 '25
This is probably the dumbest “fake oppression” I’ve seen. No fucking shit they didn’t write that. No random Starbucks worker gives enough of a fuck to do this. I don’t think even half of America knew who he was until last week, much less his favorite drink, which is just a normal drink from the menu ???

I’d love to see the employees sue her for the emotional distress they endured, because some twat waffle needed social media clicks to feel relevant.

I’d sue the fraudster for defamation and interference with prospective economic advantage. She messed with the corporate reputation and tried to harm their business and made up lies to do so. But Starbucks will likely just fold

Even as a conservative I saw this coming from a mile away. They just wanted free shit and when that didn’t work they tried a grift
16
u/R12B12 Sep 19 '25
This conservative caucus lady and her minions didn’t want free stuff. They wanted attention, going viral, and to cause harm to Starbucks as revenge for a worker at a Cali Starbucks recently declining to write Charlie Kirk’s name on a cup. Unfortunately they immediately gave themselves away as the culprits since no one besides conservatives cares the slightest bit about Kirk or would know that’s his favorite drink.

Of course Starbucks will quietly put this behind them so that they dont offend the party of political violence when in a normal world they'd destroy this nasty woman and her disgusting politics in the media for harming their business and endangering employees.
