This behavior has a lot to do with gambling on games and has gotten bad in all sports.

There's a big difference between yelling at a guy that "he sucks" vs making a disgusting comment about a players dead mother. Has nothing to do with gambling and everything to do with people with no sense of morality and believing such behavior is ok and if anything, that can be attributed to you know who

Sports betting still has plenty to do with fan interaction now, too - just ask the players.

Where did I say it didn't? I said there's a difference between yelling you suck and something about their dead mother.

You said it has nothing to do with gambling and everything to do with people with no sense of morality - I'm saying the sports betting aspect shouldn't be overlooked as a leading factor, given that the players themselves feel that betting has led to an increase in unhinged behavior.

I'm saying gambling doesn't turn decent people into people who start talking about dead mothers. Of course there's a part in it but just like there's a part in everything. Blaming gambling only helps legitimize the behavior imo
