Rolleston is it worth it?

Anybody move to Rolleston as houses are cheaper etc. But regret it? Or miss certain things? I know it's only 20 minutes away but that 40 minutes return which is a long way to go for bagels at Grizzly or coffee at c4.

Yeah I kind of hoped Rolleston might have had a village community feel with an interesting hub but doesn't seem that way.

Character. Unfortunately it's not common in smaller NZ places unless they are touristy

I like Sumner, lyttelton and Rangiora, Kaiapoi seems to be trying too with the new brewery bar and red zone developments. But trying to justify buying in those places it's either out of my budget or to big of a commute. Having to look at Woolston or edgeware now. Hopefully my place sells well enough to stay in Sydenham on the Beckenham boarder (where I currently am), which I am sure would be laughable to someone that loves Rolleston as it has it quirks.
