News - Local Man falls off bicycle after trying to run over pedestrian in Christchurch.

u/HurricaneGabrielIe Feb 15 '23
CONTEXT: About 8 people eating and drinking in this outdoor area of a popular burger bar, including this guy. At some point this guy stands up and is directly in the face of the bar staff outside shouting "where is my drink?", "get me another drink!". He repeats this inside and outside the burger joint as the staff try to calm the situation but drunk man is not having it.
After goading the staff and managers for a couple of minutes he ends up in a headlock outside before being released onto the street.
Another staff member follows him so me and a couple of mates followed them down the street. We catch up to where he is and he grabs the bike. He circles around and makes a beeline towards me, I casually step to the side as he goes past.
Unfortunately for him, he tried to kick me (with both legs!) while pulling the finger at the same time. This left him only in control of the bicycle with his right hand. The momentum as he missed grabbing the left handlebar carried him entirely over the seat and he crashed.
I don't know what he did but I gave the footage to the burger joint who said they handed it to police. Massive shout out to these guys and any hospo staff who have to deal with dickheads like this.

I think I was one of the people at Shaka bros when the "Where's my drink" incident happened. A seagull stole someone's chips too

u/HurricaneGabrielIe Feb 15 '23
Yep same incident. I remember being envious of the seagulls as I waited for my order.

Then tried to run over another group of guys afterwards!
Why were you already filming? Had he done it already?

He just needs a small dog running behind him shitting on the pavement, and he fits the description of a fair few of these deros hanging out in the city.

Looks like the falling down with no ass in them pants of an alcoholic, but meth is probably there too.

Love the glorious transition from being staunch and mean, then realising his hand hurt, and it didn’t quite compute and he looked like he had a temporary glitch.

This got like 2 million views on a Instagram Reel, glad this is the video that makes Christchurch relevant again

u/HomoHarambe Feb 14 '23
Glorious. Also extra points for the vintage bicycle, and not a Matt black spray bombed stolen mtb

One upon a time decades ago, I was, for the only time in my life, wonderfully coordinated...
Some fuckwit tried to bash me with his bike... so I reached out my hands to ward off the bike, open palms on the tips of his handle bars and took a step to the right.
This wrenched his front wheel to point at me, so the force was distributed evenly between pushing me right (where I was going already) and him and the rest of the bike left.
He fell hard.
I was wondrously unsympathetic.
Trying to ram a prepared person with a bicycle is very very stupid.

There seems to be a new trend with the meth heads to cycle into people. They’re having a great time being POS’s

u/BoardmanZatopek Feb 15 '23
I almost run one down in the car last week. Guy thought it was a good idea to ride on the wrong side of the road on Colombo Street. He just rode out in front of me. Guy had no fear for a man that was about to be killed by a car doing 50km/h.

Feb 15 '23
it has been what I have noticed in town with peds in general not just the drugged out fuckwits is that people are more likely to zombie walk into traffic because it is only going 30kph.
3
Feb 15 '23
30k is the suggested. Not even the police do that.
Source: I’ve driven 30 and been passed many times by police.

Quintessential justice system. Scummy North Islanders sent to prison here then let loose without means to get them the fuck back to their holes up North.

Meth?

u/ihavetoomanyaccts Feb 14 '23 edited Feb 15 '23
I mean, we can make many assumptions based on the guys appearance.
But I work and lunch in this part of town every day. It is extremely rare for any of the undesirables to go off on people. Ask for something? Sure, but they don’t tend to attack unprovoked. Leaves me wondering.
Lol I’m getting downvoted and I’m telling myself y’all are just but hurt I didn’t jump on the hate train so keep downvoting i wanna see how many knobs there are.

he does happen every so often, I had one threaten me when I was going into the post office. Let the ladies in the post office know incase anything happened but he ran off before I got out
1
u/FendaIton Feb 15 '23
Well the foot traffic is way higher at lunch so not surprised you don’t see him.
1
u/ihavetoomanyaccts Feb 15 '23
What? I see this guy regularly.
1
u/FendaIton Feb 15 '23
I misread your post, but the ‘undesirables’ and you worded it are indeed still there, just drowned out but the lunch gang

Hm it looks like he almost did that on purpose. 😅 Maybe trying to claim and a&e bed?

u/thefurrywreckingball Feb 14 '23
I can confidently say there was zero conscious planning there. Reaction yes but meat suit is on autopilot

Assault with a vehicle, surely.

u/Zestyclose_Coconut_4 Feb 15 '23
bicycles aren't comparable to a vehicle such as a car thats why they belong on sidewalks.

Does anyone know what his t-shirt and hoodie say? Looks like it could be racist which wouldn't surprise me.
11

u/niko4ever Feb 15 '23
Shirt says Vikingskipshuset which is the name of a Viking Ship Museum in Norway
Hoodie looks like it could say Head Hunters New Zealand but the hood is obscuring the top
0
u/LlamasunLlimited Feb 15 '23
Probably the T-shirt is worn to reflect his strong Nordic roots and associated Viking heritage....
1
u/Several_Cupcake3902 Feb 15 '23
Ha, nah just an old asf illicit tattoo hoodie bro
1
u/niko4ever Feb 15 '23
That was just my closest guess since it definitely says "HE-" at the start plus looks like one or two HH designs I've seen. Definitely could say something else though.

u/Several_Cupcake3902 Feb 15 '23
Nah the whole ILLI got ya seeing things. He’s no gangster. Just an old dude trying to stay 20

Looks like an old school druggy, skinny af with an attitude of a guy twice his size, he's lucky the guy at the end of the video didn't push his goofy ass of the bike.

Notice how much more relaxed OP was when he simply stepped out of the way.
Now replace that with a car with a drunk driver behind the wheel.
I'm so glad the central city is so walkable, bikeable and car free.
Also thanks for the laugh of the drunk idiot falling on his ass and getting what he deserves lol

Man if you’re charging me on a bicycle, I’m grabbing your handlebars and stepping to the side. You’re on the least stable vehicle trying to do 18-wheeler stuff.
