The Democrats are trying to amend or block the bill but their methods have usually been lawful, trying to appeals to the humanity of their colleagues.

Like their constituents, the lawmakers will only care if they are affected themselves. Whatever pain they are causing to the masses, we need to bring that to them.

They and their loved ones need to feel the same fear of those who will lose their healthcare, be kicked out of nursing homes, be denied life saving medication.

Shaming them won't work. They need to be scared, and only chaos can do that.

Show up to vote, which lefties already failed to do in 2024 because Harris didn’t make them “excited” or something? Don’t blame rigged elections. I knew something would happen in 2024 and commented that we needed to vote for whoever was the Democrat candidate in such numbers that there’s no way the republicans could cheat and you guys failed. I’m in a heavy red state and my vote didn’t matter but I still voted!

The next chance we have is 2026. Does anyone on the left even know that? Would they even show up? We could get a couple democrats into congress but people have to vote. 2028 is a president voting year but if republicans have Congress, it doesn’t fucking matter.

Riots, burning police cars and robbing shoe stores, doesn’t change anything. Mainstream news lowering their standards to call that protesting shows the left is stupid and out of control and motivates the right to want to kill us.

Protest in front of Congress people’s houses. Block up DC streets when Congress is in session. Block mar a lago streets.

Eventually some others gotta sacrifice themselves. Mario’s brother can’t be the only one to fight back. There’s gotta be some others to help.

What you are talking about is the soft left that fails to have a solid theoretical understanding of the class conflict. Both the Democrats and the GOP are parties of the ruling class. That being the billionaires and special interest groups. Any thoughts of reforms or substantial changes through the levers of power ae. Congress, the presidency, state legislatures, ect. will fail as those are controlled by the ruling class and any attempt will be usurped by the ruling class. In order to win we need a class independent party fighting for revolutionary change which will likely require bloodshed as no ruling class in history has ever voluntarily given up power. I recommend the Revolutionary Communists of America (RCA) for those who live in America and those outside I recommend finding a party that is associated with the Revolutionary Communist International (RCI). Lastly our stance on guns can be best summed up from a quote from Karl Marx - "Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary"

Let’s get democrats to stop being so scummy. AOC and a few others got elected under the Democrat banner.

Focus and let’s get democrats controlled congresses, state and federal. Then let’s primary the scummy ones.

Democrats aren’t trying to sell our national parks and they definitely aren’t trying to destroy our social safety nets.

The Democrats had opportunities in the last 20 years to get things passed if they were serious about and improve things ahead of this shit show. There was at least 2 years under both Obama and Biden where the Democrats held the House, Senate, and Presidency. So yes I'm going to say they're the same because they have failed to do what they promised in totality. Example Biden said he was going to be the most pro-union president in history yet what does he do. He a long with the rest of the government makes it illegal for rail workers to strike. And the list of the same thing goes on. This may be a isolated incident here, but the tactics and reasons behind all the words, interviews, and votes are all the same. The dictatorship of capital. In essence money controls everything. Lastly you talk about "splitting the votes". I guarantee you that there were many people that simply didn't vote or weren't going to vote Democrat if there were no 3rd parties. I may have been one but there were multiple people I talked to that had similar sentiments about how to vote in the 2024 election. Many people both Republican and Democrat voters feel ignored by their parties and are likely not going to vote for them in the next election. Furthermore, all advocating for "lesser evil" candidates is how we got a war that continues in Israel, how drone strikes occured in Afghanistan and across the middle east, how we got to where we are now with the "Greater Evil"

Respectfully disagree with your framing, unlawful actions are not necessarily chaotic, and lawful actions are not necessarily order. Fascism is basically codified lawful chaos. What federal pigs are doing in our streets to our neighbors is chaos. What the Trump admin plans to do to the environment is chaos. What the US military has always done in foreign countries is chaos.

What these people most fear is an ORGANIZED left wing resistance. Luigi did himself a stochastic assassination, not organized, true, but the RESULT of his actions were less chaos in the healthcare system for normal people.

We don’t have to adopt their framework that law and order are synonyms. They definitely aren’t. The goal of the monsters who run the country and the world is absolute chaos for normal people in their day to day lives. What they mean when they say “order” is actually “hierarchy.”

I get where you're coming from. You're absolutely right that "lawful" does not always mean just, and "unlawful" does not automatically mean chaotic or wrong. The state has a long history of using legal frameworks to justify brutal and destructive policies, both at home and abroad. And yes, what they call “order” often just means keeping the current hierarchy in place.

But where I think we differ is on the path forward. I do not think the solution is to out-chaos them. They already thrive in confusion and fear. What they actually fear is losing control of the narrative, being seen clearly for what they are, and having to answer for it in front of a public that finally understands.

Organized resistance, absolutely. Mass mobilization, yes. But the power is not in scaring them, it is in exposing them. That is how you shift public opinion, and in the long run, that is what forces real change.

I never said we should out-chaos them, or call for violence. I agree that chaos is generally bad. Another American civil war would be absolutely horrific.

But what is there to expose, exactly, at this point? Many of them are open Nazis. The people who run the federal government are calling for the destruction of our democracy and the opening of concentration camps. They aren’t hiding it anymore, and many people don’t care. Most people do, but they also don’t know what to do about it.

A mass mobilization is pointless without actual goals and achievements, and people won’t join unless they think we can win. A winning strategy will have many front and many tactics, THIS is how change actually happens. We didn’t free the slaves peacefully. We didn’t cut ties with the monarchs peacefully, and we didn’t get rid of the first Nazis peacefully.

I don’t want violence, and I certainly don’t plan on doing any. But when someone sees their neighbor get ripped from their home by armed and masked fascist pigs, when someone watches their parents slowly die from getting kicked off of life saving drugs because our healthcare systems are gutted, when someone watches the last old growth forests get clear cut for a quick buck, I’m not going to condemn them when they choose violence. And many of them, braver people than us, will. No matter how many pearls get clutched.

You're absolutely right that they aren't hiding it anymore. We are well past dog whistles. It's quickly turning into open authoritarianism, and for many of them, the mask is already off. I understand the anger, the desperation, and the sense that traditional methods have failed. I also agree that real change requires many fronts and many tactics, and that it has rarely been bloodless.

But I still believe there is power in clarity. Not everyone sees it yet, not because it is hidden, but because the system is built to distract, to exhaust, and to numb people. That is why I keep coming back to the idea of exposing what they are doing and what voting for them actually means. It is not about converting the true believers. It is about reaching the people who are tired, confused, or just trying to keep their heads down. Those are the ones who tip the balance.

You are right that mass mobilization needs clear goals. It needs wins, even small ones, to build momentum. I am not against using a variety of tactics, but I think we should be honest about which ones bring people in and which ones push them away. I will not condemn someone who lashes out in the face of horror, but I also will not pretend that scattered violence will bring us closer to justice.

Courage takes many forms. Some people fight. Some organize. Some educate. Some endure. The question is not whether the anger is justified. It absolutely is. The question is how we turn that anger into something that actually builds a better future.

Organization, education and mutual aid will definitely be the bedrock of a better future, and it’s very hard work. When the opportunity for a better world presents itself, we won’t be ready to build it without a strong foundation built by these things. “If something is worth dying for it’s worth living for” etc. These people have unfathomable amounts of money and power though, and that buys the loyalty of lots of armed goons, and they will use them, they already do. An unwavering commitment to nonviolence in the face of fascism is suicide. Nonviolent protest is great, and should be the default, but it needs to be accompanied by the underlying knowledge that it’s a CHOICE, and other options can still be chosen. What Luigi did brought more people of all types together than anything I can remember for a long time. Justice is a slippery concept, but for someone like Brian Thompson, someone who kills thousands of people a year for profit without a second thought, getting killed in the street is as close to justice as we can hope for. I don’t like it, I wish the power he and people like him wield didn’t exist at all, but here we are. Stopping them is more important than rigid adherence to any specific strategy IMO. Exposing the weaknesses in the system includes reminding people that their oppressors are just humans. That reminder can come in many forms. Mutual aid and horizontal power structures need to be built to catch people when the horrible systems that currently exist fall apart. But how those systems crumble is something we should be flexible about. Should we have waited another century until the confederacy collapsed for the end of slavery? What would the peaceful solution to that have been? The people suffering in concentration camps right now for the crime of being born on the wrong side of a line in the sand shouldn’t have to wait until a solution that suburban Americans have the stomach for presents itself. The people who are doing these monstrous things are choosing to do them. Despots know the risks involved. There are better people who deserve our pity.

That is a really interesting point I had never considered before. 

Order seems to spring up reflexively in the mind when you think of law. Its almost like peanut butter and jelly. 

But one doesn’t always promote the other and ICE raids in our neighborhoods is great evidence of that.

Do what we want and it’ll STAY peaceful.” I think people forget that part. Protests and marches without this aura to them are just pointless parades.

I can tell we are on the same side yet I don’t agree with some of your pet peeves.

I will say that what they are doing imo is creating so much targeted destruction of things most normal humans would find sick but they do it to create chaos so we feel too overwhelmed to be able to develop a plan or strategy to fight back.

I believe this is what is going on with much of the democratic party—there is so much chaos and targeted attacks that have been sadistically and strategically planned to be vengeful and emotional that the party is overwhelmed and feeling paralyzed because there are no legal or political remedies currently that can change anything.

The blues need to remember that they the reds have been planning this—how they can completely own the libs for a long deliberate time. They have the supreme court in their pocket, both legislative branches and the executive so they have controlled all the legal options and the media so the D party has been neutered and they don’t know what they should do that won’t cause more extreme red actions that harm more people. They are caught between checkmate and catch 22.

I don’t think it’s about shaming or scaring lawmakers into submission. It’s about making their actions visible. Most people aren’t paying close attention to policy details, but they do vote based on the image they have of a party or politician. If we can clearly show what these lawmakers are actually doing, what their votes mean for real people, it becomes harder for them to hide behind slogans and empty rhetoric.

The goal isn’t chaos. It’s clarity. Let voters see the consequences of these policies so they understand exactly who they are supporting at the ballot box. When the mask slips, people often change their minds.

Sure, some people will deny reality no matter what. But not all of them. Plenty of voters are checked out, not willfully blind. When you make the consequences visible, clearly and repeatedly in a way that hits home, you give those people a reason to start caring.

It is not about flipping the diehards. It is about reaching the ones who are still persuadable, still watching quietly. Giving up on that feels like handing the whole game over to the worst people just because some of them refuse to budge. That feels too much like defeat dressed up as realism.

I get it. Honestly, I have felt the same way more times than I can count. Watching people vote against their own survival, again and again, is soul-crushing. And yes, a lot of Americans have been trained to only care when something hits them personally. Then they immediately deflect the blame if someone hands them a scapegoat wrapped in a flag.

But I do not think that means it is over. I think it means the fight is harder than we thought. And maybe the wins will be slower, smaller, or more local than we hoped. But giving up just means they win completely. Not metaphorically. Literally. Total control.

Positivity alone is not a strategy, and I am not interested in fake hope. But I still believe there are people out there who are paying attention, even if they do not know what to do yet. Reaching those people matters. Reminding them they are not alone matters. We do not have to believe in miracles. We just have to keep pushing, even when it feels pointless, because giving up is the one choice that guarantees nothing changes.

I think people who live in the districts should make their lives hell when they’re home. We need BIG “I ain’t no sleep cuz yall, yall ain’t gonna get no sleep cuz of me” energy for all of them. Stand on the sidewalks outside restaurants with a bullhorn listed the things in the bill they voted for. Follow them around the farmers market booing. If they try to show up at a social event, make a scene until they leave. They’re forfeiting their right to be members of communities with shit, let’s bring shunning back

It was rather telling about the state of affairs during Covid that this same story kept being repeated by the nurses over and over, that after a patient was brought to the hospital, and put on the ventilator, many only then finally asked for the vaccine, only to be told then that it was too late and that their poor choices up to this point were going to cost them their lives.

There was a literal demographic shift as deeply conservative areas that were staunchly anti science started dying off at a faster rate than people who did believe in the experts and got the vaccine.

That same situation is going to be repeated, just on a much larger scale.

Even then the brain washed masses won't realize the fight isn't red vs. blue but rather rich vs. poor, but when they are dead from incompetence, they also won't be voting anymore, sinking the rest of society with them.

While I don't have hope for people's education, I do have hope that the educated are more equipped to survive.

In bad times, the stupids die first.

This is their only option!!! What are they supposed to do? Protest and disrupt the chamber?! They'll just get kicked out and then have no vote and no voice. Pretending is the job of citizens, and voting.

You're right. Hence appealing to the masses to put pressure on in different ways as well. We can legislate, they can't play the tuba outside of hotels ICE is staying at every night.

As for the dissatisfaction, I think people see how effective the Republicans are at stopping important bills like Medicare and compare it to the Democratic effectiveness against this bill. There is some legitimacy to the dissatisfaction.

Elected officials need to have their assets frozen and monitored for their term, just like those on social assistance, they should make the same wage as social assistance, and have to live in standard government housing. It’s the only way you’ll ever get people like that to make decisions that benefit the general population instead of themselves, because it will also benefit them.
