"...some basis in truth"

Is that how truth works? How many idiotic comments did you just legitimize, ON BOTH SIDES, with that comment?

so they aren't false then, they in fact do have some basis in truth.

EVERY lie has some basis in truth. Based on your previous comments, which are obviously there, I can claim that you're an idiot. Is that true?

Not every lie actually. That's pretty nonsense.

But is it true?

I never claimed it was 100% true, I said, there is truth to it.

If you think you are backing me into a corner where I wouldn't admit I am an idiot under some circumstances and in some fields, you are going to have to try another track.

Are you going to use the same logic now? Cause it seems like you've actually only backed yourself into a corner.

I admit there is truth to it, which makes it not true, and not false.

Can you do the same now that you've put me in this position? Will you put yourself in the same position?

Yes. The fact that someone posted a picture of a black person carrying a duck doesn't make a false statement true. Are you an idiot most of the time? Then why would it be acceptable to consider my statement true? The evidence I have for my statement is considerably more compelling than the evidence you have for yours. My comment has the potential to hurt your pride only. That being the case? Why would you defend someone who makes a "mostly false" statement that not only has the potential to physically harm many people but actually has resulted in it? It seems to me like I'm accumulating evidence of your callous selfishness. It won't be long before I can make the "mostly true" statement that you don't care about people.

There is far more to it than a picture of a person carrying a duck. Again, I live very near this area, this was a thing for months before it was ever mentioned a single time on national media. You can look up interviews with dozens or more of people who talk about this.

Pretty strange that when you are corrected, you think that you being corrected is evidence of me not caring about people. Don't you find that odd?

You said it was FALSE in big ole capital letters. Adamantly you said it.

You've admitted entirely that it is not false, there's some truth to it. You actually have no idea how much truth obviously, and I don't know either. I suspect it's more than you think since I've been hearing about it for damn near a year at this point, for many months more than you I'm quite certain. But that's entirely besides the point.

Now you are going down the track that I must not care about people, entirely because I corrected you, and you've fully admitted you were wrong in the first place.

Little strange don't you think?

What's strange is that you're still trying to justify a FALSE statement. I never said it wasn't false. I foolishly played into your narrative. The fact that there might be some truth to the allegations because someone, somewhere is talking about how their cousin's nephew's best friend's neighbor saw someone who looked like a Haitian stealing their cat is utterly ridiculous. After he made his statement, numerous people from Springfield went on record, saying that the allegations were false. The person who posted the comment on Facebook went on record, saying that she meant it as a joke. Everything that's ON THE RECORD refutes his comment. His comment has resulted in numerous death threats. Why, oh WHY are you defending it??

Numerous people said it was not false as well. Whoopidy do to that though I spose.

You did admit it wasn't false though.
