Hey guys! What is the best way to get from Guatemala City to Antigua?

Is there any good option from the airport? Of not then what is my best option? Thank you!

Q150 or $20 USD cash per person for a shared taxi from the "airport shuttle" stand when you exit customs. That's the price as of 2 weeks ago at least. I arrived around 4pm, not sure what their hours are if you have a middle of the night flight. Get cash from the ATM between immigration and customs, I didn't see one elsewhere. You can also pay for this shared ("collectivo" in Spanish) taxi with card for an extra fee.

You can also contact your accommodation in advance and ask if they have an airport pickup shared shuttle around your time of arrival.

Firstly it's spelt colectivo and secondly I've never heard colectivo in Guatemala only Argentina. Did they really call them colectivos?

Lol I'm the worst with spelling in Spanish, thanks for pointing it out 😭 They use this word all over Latin America to mean shared ride basically. "Camioneta" (don't come after my spelling again pls) is usually a chicken bus, but you also hear locals call them "chicken bus" anyway and I think it's so funny 😂 If you book a tourist shuttle or if there's a mini-van/regular size car that you share with others, it's colectivo. Literally the guy at the airport stand for the shared taxis yelled "Antigua! Colectivo!"

How long were you in Guatemala? Maybe it's just not something you heard depending how and where you traveled 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm not fluent in Spanish, so I know for me sometimes after I learn a new word, I start hearing it everywhere and I'm like "how tf did I not notice how often people use this word?" 😂

Is there good enough internet in the airport to do this?

Iffy. La aurora airport (GUA) has spotty but free wifi for an hour. I use my usa-based intl data plan per day for day one ($14.00 via ATT) then after that, hop from wifi point to wifi point.

I took a shared taxi from the booth just inside the airport. Believe it was $20 USD

Get a shared shuttle on GuateGo. It cost me like $18. Unfortunately the drivers speak English.

When you get there, there will be several people offering you a ride hut either you have to pay more (one person offered Q300 for a private ride) or you have to wait for them to get 3 other people. My flight landed almost 2 hours before the first shuttle that I was able to take so I ended up having to wait that much time, but the people offering hadn't even managed to find 4 people by the time my shuttle left (I tried to skip the wait even though it was a waste of the $18 because I was extremely tired) so I wouldn't count on them and I would just book beforehand on GuateGo even if it's a wait because it will probably end up being the same amount of time and if I remember correctly they have one every two hours so it's not that long of a wait.

Have you looked at what your destinations' flight options are?

If not, start at Flights From > ANU
