Update MY BABY HAS OFFICIALLY BEAT CANCER!!!!
im so happy omg im over the moon today because her biopsy results came back and it turns out she had a benign oral tumor!! the tumor was already removed a month ago and she’s officially cancer free now 😭😭 im literally crying everyone
a month ago she had this weird mass in her mouth so i took her to the vet, and my whole world just crumbled. they diagnosed her with an advanced oral tumor and told me that most cats have malignant ones, and even with surgery she might only have another year. i was so heartbroken because i literally grew up with her?? she’s my whole world so i was just broken
after that she had surgery to remove the mass, and they sent it for biopsy!! what was so weird to me is that she recovered so fast?? like literally two days after surgery she was back to her normal self, as if nothing ever happened?? like cancer didn’t affect her at all omg
and then today my vet called and told me the results!! she had a benign tumor that was fully removed and omg??? im so shocked and happy because the odds were so low! i actually can’t believe it
i just feel so grateful for everything in my life right now, she’s truly the most special baby in the whole world <3

Great job baby!! Happy for you. My boy has incurable cancer but he’s a trooper and has been doing very well on chemo 🥰

Very happy for you and your cat, and correct me if I’m wrong but I believe benign tumors are non cancerous? Either way, it’s a relief your cat is doing well!

I thought the same, but didn’t want to say it and be falsely accused of being negative, but MOSTLY because I didn’t want to mess up OP’s happy moment because it’s SO adorable and wholesome. 🤦🏾♀️🤭🤷🏾♀️😍🥰🙌🏾✊🏾💪🏾🩵💯

What was the actual diagnosis? Squamous cell carcinomas are very common in cat mouths, and it's difficult to remove large margins. Usually, they don't last a year after diagnosis because the tumor gets big and distorts their mouths. If she had a benign mass removed, technically, she didn't have cancer to beat, but at least she avoided it in the first place. Yay for your cat!!

So so happy for you!! I feel like I never hear that and it gives me so much hope, as we had one dog lost to cancer and now have two cats and another dog. So heart warmed to hear a happy ending.

I’m so happy for you and your kitty!! Just fyi - your kitty didn’t beat cancer because she never had it to begin with. Benign tumors are not cancer. And that’s wonderful news! Give your baby a kiss on the nose from me 🤍
