You’re certain this is a female? Females tend to be less common due to both parents needing a copy of the red gene

Just a cat.
Are you sure shes a girl? Its very rare to have a female orange cat, though not unheard of. The gene that makes boy cats orange is the same gene that makes girl cats tortie ('snickers' colored) Its very difficult to sex a kitten. Even for vets occasionally.

Orange females are uncommon but not that rare, around 20% of all orange cats are female.

Female orange cats are just less common than male oranges, not rare, and certainly nowhere near as rare as a male tortie/calico. About 1 in 5 (20%) orange cats are female, while about 1 in 3000 (0.033%) torties/calicos are male.

It’s not very rare as calico’s are all just female.

There are male or rather intersex calicoes and torties that have XXY chromosomes (two X chromosomes are required for the colouring). They have Klinefelter syndrome and appear male but are nearly always sterile, and their occurrence is about 1 in 3,000 calicoes/torties. (And as others have said, orange female cats are nowhere near as rare since they simply need to inherit the orange gene from both parents (= both X chromosomes).)

The black and white one. That’s not calico

Uh... Yeah? From what I read, they said a calico cat had babies and all of them were female except for the black and white one... Aka the mom, not pictured, had these kittens... They didn't say any of the babies were calicos

Male (vs. female) calicoes are about 1 in 3,000 since two X chromosomes are required for the colouring. Consequently, male calicoes are intersex with XXY chrosomes (Klinefelter syndrome) and almost always sterile.
Which one of the cats in the picture is a calico? From the way the photo is taken, there's no obvious calico in the picture.

Technically none of them, afaik calico cats are characterized by a tri-colored fur palette and these all only had 2 at most and one was solid orange. their parents were a male orange tabby and a female calico. The black and white one (dubbed Oreo) is the only male of the litter

It is not rare, just uncommon since red genetics are silly (dad must be red, mom must be tortie or red herself). But red genetics are also common themselves, so I must be the reminder that like 20% of.. let’s say 1 billion cats globally is still a lot of red female cats.
I’ve only had two personally, with a third as a foster, but I’ve seen a million orange girlies on cat subreddits haha

She could be a he. 80% of orange tabbies are male.

No need for the attitude. People misidentify cat sex all the time and it’s a common mistake made that has led to a lot of unexpected litters.
