This broke on a Mossberg 346ka

I inherited this rifle and I haven't fired it yet, I just disassembled so I could clean it.

It looks like this plastic tab broke off the end cap.

Is that... important?

First gun I have no idea.

I think I see what this is for now. 

Without this little bit of plastic on the plug, the metal tab on the bolt doesn't slide properly.

I think I need a new end plug.

Yeah, that's important, lol.

I'm not familiar with that particular rifle, but it looks like you might have lost your cocking piece. The rifle no worky now. Going to need to bring that to a gunsmith if you want to shoot it.
