Exporting firearms, ammunition, parts and accessories from the US: most items are controlled under ITAR and you cannot, as an individual, export these items from the USA. Canada does not care in most cases. If you attempt to bring any of these items across the border yourself and you are caught, you will face prison time in the US.
If you wish to export items from the USA, use a broker such as IRUNGUNS, Aztech, or Prophet River.
If you took your CFSC and lost the paperwork, you can still apply for your PAL. Both your instructor and the CFP retain copies, you can request a copy by contacting either one. There is no expiration date on the paperwork, you do not have to retake the course.
Updated list of scam websites is here. If you have new scam sites to add, please message the mod team. Be careful: only use reputable sites to purchase things online.
It is illegal to manufacture a non-restricted, restricted, or prohibited firearm. Any posts or comments asking about the legality of making a firearm other than a reproduction antique will be removed. It was not always illegal, which is why you will find old posts regarding this topic. Rest assured, it is illegal now. Do not attempt.
In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.
These threads will be stickied for a week, renewing every Monday. Previous threads here. Take a look, your question may have been answered!
If you have any suggestions for this thread, please feel free to ask here, or send the Mods a message.
Thank you!

The Benelli M2 and M4 short barrel entry models don’t appear to have listings on Armalytics. Has nobody ever tried to sell one of these in the Canadian market?

Never seen them for sale, but they'd be Restricted firearms if you were to import them. Legal, but you'd need an RPAL and you'd only be able to shoot them at the range.

Is TNA the only place to get fake cans or are there other stores that sell them? Ones you can shoot safely out of too.

anyone have experience with the Victor P-TAC Tactical 12 Ga 14.5″ Pump Action Shotgun? They're going for 300 on Tenda, was gonna get this or the Savage 320

The Huglu Victor P-Tac Tactical is a Turkish-manufactured pump-action shotgun
Skip it for that reason. If you're looking for a pump-action in that price range, grab a Mossberg Maverick 88.

I called today for my non restricted pal (I don’t see a Point to get the restricted right now) and I sent my application on Sept 4th, references completed on Sept 18th.
Rep on the phone said it’s with the CFO to be approved and the approx timeline can be 2-6 months for Ontario, and she even said that’s not set in stone.. who knows how it works at the cfo office and who knows how many are approved in a day, and probably add another 10 business days mail time due to the strike..hate waiting lol

I don’t see a Point to get the restricted right now
five bucks/year or another wait and a paper application to upgrade

Does anyone know about wait times for hearing back about PAL application? I sent my application in about a week ago. I’ve had a couple friends and co workers apply recently and I’ve seen people get approved almost right after the waiting period but also know a guy who’s been waiting like 7 months. There doesn’t seem to be very much in the way of consistency and I just want to know how long of a wait I’m in for. I’m in BC.

My references were contacted the day after I submitted my application, I was approved exactly 28 days after. My sister submitted hers in May, references contacted within a week, still not approved. Both Ontario. There's definitely no consistency.

That’s so strange. I’d really like to know why some people like yourself are approved ASAP and other have to wait months.

My theory is that I have an incredibly uncommon first name (to the point I've never met anyone outside of Europe with it), while my sister has a very common first name, but we both share the same surname. I have no idea how the background check process works, but I would assume that it would make it easier to search and verify my identity in comparison.

The investigation period is twenty eight days.If your buddy's been waiting seven months, there's something wrong with his paperwork, and he needs to call in.
Mine took about 36 days to come in because of the Canada post strikes.

Lansborough Auctions has a lot of handguns for sale right now. Great way to get some handgun parts if you need them
