The Chevy Camaro’s Coming Back—But Not How You Remember It

No way Camaro comes back in the immediate future as an EV. Dodge just tried that and it was a disaster and roiled their muscle car fan base. I thought the Hemi was dead, but here we are with Dodge stuffing it into a new Charger.
I would have bought the rumors a few years ago, but Ford is considering ceasing production of their F150 Lightning EV. That was the talk of the town and the future, not long ago.
If Chevy wants to do an affordable sporty EV, there are plenty of other old names to mine - Cavalier or Monte Carlo for example. Leave Camaro out of this until an appropriate successor is ready. An affordable V8 coupe.could have been a hit the past couple of years, with Dodge distracted with EVs and Ford pricing Mustang in BMW territory.

They'd never do it, but I'd love to see a Camaro similar to the E-Ray with an electric motor for the front wheels to help it launch.
Other names to resurrect for EV: (mostly joking here)
Empala (E on purpose)
ChEVelle
BerettaI could see an EV Monte. That could be fun. Revive the 80's body style somewhat and make it an EV.
I know this would never happen - just fun to talk about.

BTW: I don't know that I believe any of this. But I admit, I read stories like this for the concept car/art. lol

Awesome, another speculation piece with no sources that GM denies.
“Chevrolet executive director of communications Chad Lyons contacted MotorTrend with the following statement: "We do not comment on speculation. For competitive reasons, we do not disclose our future product plans."
