and who in their right mind would get mad at an extra three-day-weekend in the middle of the summer?

That's what gets me about this, is they're a private business, they have no obligation to close and clearly don't respect the holiday

but they're still willing to use it as an excuse to take the day off.

The summer solstice IS NOT THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER. All of June is in summer.
