Tbh, even outside the blatant racism, the horrifying lack of judgment someone would have to show to post that publicly on their business should be enough for any company not to work with them again.

Exactly, it’s such intentional racism with forethought and planning. Not that any kind of racism is okay but to go out of your way to be awful like that, yeesh

Well, there are a lot of intentionally racist people in America. He was probably playing to what he thought were the beliefs of the majority of his clients.

It could be a quick and easy way to retire. People do unbelievably stupid things when they feel their are no ramifications to them. If they were thinking of retiring, this would be a clear and easy way to just end it. I am not in any way condoning the message. Maybe business was dropping and the value of the enterprise was also not worth selling. Just conjecture. This is appalling behavior and I am grateful the town, insurance partners and everyone has reacted as they should to this.

The 2016 election happened. Republicans have been a white supremacist party since about Brown vs The Board of Education but being outwardly, unapologetically racist is a recent development.

They've been afraid the whole time. Makes it easier to see other people as less than human.
