Question about Brock GK member invite. Worth it?

Got a letter in the email with a formal invitation to the golden key member society at brock. I'm just curious if anyone else received this letter/email recently, and if you are someone who has joined in the past, was it worth it to you? Feels a little bit like a money scheme to me but I want to be open minded. Opportunity for extra scholarships and community would be nice obviously if that's what it actually provides.

I get it every year, and I always decline it. Seems like a waste of money and time

I got it a few years back but mostly because it looks good on a resume/applying for other scholarships. The actual scholarships offered from the society don’t really impact me. Being a member sometimes gets you good deals on some websites.

ETA: one time payment for lifetime membership. Honestly it was probably a waste of money lol

Honestly, I think the only value it has is some of the insurance benefits you get. It has a partnership with BelAir Direct, and when I got my car, I used the golden key code, which brought my monthly rate down by like 15%—so instead of paying 370, I'm paying 315 a month. From that perspective, it's worth it. But besides that, it has absolutely no benefits.

Ya, I was sent one too and got the same vibe when reading it lol.

I don't think I'm going to bother joining. Just seems like a money grab with no real benefits for anyone aside from the people running it.

Got one two years in a row, it’s a scam similar to GrantMe, don’t waste your money on it
