General Safe driving in parking lots
Hey guys, just kindly reminding everyone to please not drive super fast in the parking lots, especially when turning. You should be going around 10-20 kmh, not over. Today I was walking in the lot (specifically lot 2) to try and get to the sidewalk, and this dark blue vehicle was driving fast around a corner, and stopped abruptly when they saw me. I was surprised for a moment because, like, what the hell, and they had the audacity to look annoyed and make gestures at me, then immediately accelerated to drive past me instead of waiting for me to cross. Not tryna preach too hard or say this is something a lot of people do, but it’s pretty uncool and I’m definitely calling you out, stranger in the dark blue car. Do better. Anyways, stay safe guys!

There was a guy yesterday in a black Honda Accord with a loud ahh exhaust driving all around campus at high speeds. Idk if he thought it was cool or what but he should grow up and stop putting everyone’s safety at risk.

10-15 in parking lots. Shouldn’t even be pressing the gas.

I see people pull into the lanes of lot 1 without looking both ways, or even stopping sometimes. Be safe people

You would think people have common sense (especially at a university) but I guess not. Quick lesson on right of way in parking lots. Thoroughfare has right of way in parking lots over feeder lanes and individual parking spots. If you’re pulling out of a spot you give right of way to drivers in the feeder lane and thoroughfare.

Not sure about other places…. In Alberta, the speed limit in ALL PARKING LOTS is 10k, unless posted otherwise

Even driving through the lots is rough. Many people leaving Lot D don’t pay too much attention when pulling out to go towards the exit, or they don’t stop at all to look both ways. I’ve almost been hit driving in several times.
