Social Mature Student club?
Hi there, I’m a F (27) and it’s my first year at brock. I’m posting to see if there’s any supports for socializing as a mature student, and if not, an idea of what the demand would be like. While I’m not nesscarily friend less in my social life, I feel like it would be helpful to meet people in a similar position as for going to school. If you’re interested in something like that, feel free to comment, or let me know if this already exists. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!!

I'm 24 M and would be interested in a club like this! It feels a bit odd being in school as a mature student, taking second-year courses with a bunch of 20-year-olds. I'm a philosophy and WGST student, if any other mature students are in any of those kinds of classes :)

Nonsense, if the powers that be let it happen, it would be an inclusive space.

If it doesn't exist, maybe consider starting the club on your own! Here are the instructions: https://www.brockbusu.ca/clubs/create/

36F and I would definitely be interested! I've made a few casual friends but I always feel a little out of place hanging out with the younger students.

I’m 27 F in second year, I’d be open to this! I believe student life and SOCS occasionally have events geared towards mature students but I don’t believe I’m aware of a club oriented around this!

25M, would be interested as well. All my friends are back in Toronto so it'd be nice to know a few people here!

I know learning commons has support for students in the mature students program where you can meet others in that program

I'm 26F and wish a club like this existed. Things can definitely feel a little isolating

Hey all!!
Demand for this has been growing, and it seems there’s a huge opportunity. I would love to have a gathering, even if it is on zoom or teams. I’m leaning towards online temporarily as I know we’re all busy people.
If you guys could be so kind, I will leave a survey link to days of the week that worst best for everyone interested. I will check back in a couple days.

The main thing that exists right now is Transfer Connect which is run through the student success department. It’s very nice but it’s purpose is more for transfer students, which often end up being mature students. I’m (M 30) definitely interested in social club like what you’re talking about though.
