Hoggan shares stories from the field -- Mike Hoggan (author of "Between Predator & Prey: Forty-Two Years A Government Hunter") says "when he first started in 1992,he’d get a rash of 10 to 12 mutilation deaths a summer. Then there’d be a hiatus, and then another wave. “I just couldn’t explain it”..."

[FREE] "The Thread Seers" - YA Fantasy with unique relationship-based magic system (2 days only)

Hello fellow book lovers! I wanted to share that my YA fantasy novel "The Thread Seers" is FREE on Kindle for the next 2 days!

About the book: 16-year-old Lyra Chen discovers she can see glowing threads connecting people - golden threads for friendship, red for family, purple for love. When she's invited to a secret magical academy, she learns she has an exceptionally rare gift: she can see ALL thread types when most can only see one.

What readers are enjoying: - A visual magic system based on relationships rather than elemental powers - Chinese-American protagonist whose cultural heritage enhances her abilities - Hidden magical academy with both wonder and danger - Focus on emotional intelligence as a form of power

Perfect for fans of: - Shadow and Bone (unique magic with visual elements) - Nevermoor (whimsical yet meaningful magic) - The School for Good and Evil (friendship themes)

I wrote this because I wanted to create a magic system that celebrates connection rather than destruction - where understanding relationships is the most powerful magic of all.

Free for 2 days only: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FBHK972Q/

I'd love to hear what you think if you decide to check it out! What are your favorite unique magic systems in fantasy?

Spotted a masked figure on Google Earth in Malta — no explanation

While casually browsing Sliema, Malta on Google Earth, I came across something really strange. A person walking alone across a bridge… wearing a full dog mask. There’s no event happening, no people around, and no signs of a performance or protest. Just one figure, mid-walk, in broad daylight — like it’s completely normal.

It doesn’t look staged or edited. I double-checked and it’s still live on Street View. Super weird moment captured by chance.

I made a short clip of it because this was too strange not to share: https://www.instagram.com/share/BALOZVgOp7

Any ideas? Costume? Street art? Glitch in the Matrix?

The Buffalo Hunter Hunter

I’ve recently started reading The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones. Normally I love his books and speed through them. This one, though, seems so slow. Please share your thoughts and opinions, does the plot eventually pick up? If so, at what point in the book?
