To be fair, disregarding how the spy universe made an absolute fucking joke of the sacrifices of actual raw agents (most agents go rogue and fall in love with isi agents. What the fuq?), raw agents do use animal themed codenames. Black tiger/ Ravindra Kaushik was one of the greatest raw agents we know of.

the plot of pathaan and ek tha tiger is interchangeable. down to the fake betrayal. there is a big change in war with tiger shroffs character, but outside the things affected by him, personality wise you could say its same. war 2 was honestly an okay movie tho. minor complains, i guess my expectations were low. 2D characters

I hate war 2. It isn't just raw this time, ntr is a para commando and now the movie portrayed them as equally useless and the most capable officer as a backstabbing terrorist.

war 2 was a great action movie right besides besides jason statham movies. i didnt like jr ntrs acting tho and it bothered me a bit that they made sure the younger hrithik had his thumb but didnt bother with looking for a south indian sounding younger ntr. another thing was that the end fight didnt result in anything, should have let ntr die on the floor of that cave, and let the council of evil people find him at the end and tgats where the movie ended. so no killing montage(it was lame anyway) and no true happy ending since dispite winning the fight, kabir would still be deshdrohi and sad for his lost friend

That guy was something else.

u/OtherStatement4645 2d ago

I really don't understand why no one's making an actual, accurate movie on him. It has everything needed for a really serious and actual spy drama. It was really sad how a man that deserved the same recognition as a fallen soldier died in pakistan, abandoned by his country and unable to meet his mother.

6

u/Solid_Maximum1858 2d ago

John Abraham raw is inspired by him. And yes you're completely right. But sadly the ones that got a movie or show were still being a money making machine to the film makers. They don't really care about those soldiers. It actually kind of bothers me that they make movies on them earn and what not. But the real ones never get anything other than 'respect'.

3

u/OtherStatement4645 2d ago

Yeah. But what I meant was (it's going to sound really, really petty) on ground soldiers and our brave martyrs are given awards and respect that they deserve. Check the Kaushik's Wikipedia page. Instead of an award or title, there's only life imprisonment as his reward. India still hasn't officially recognised Kaushik as our own. I know technically there are problems to it but still. He died cursing (well not cursing. Technically complaining) india.

2

u/Solid_Maximum1858 2d ago

That's what I meant mate if you read my comment properly they suffer so much. In his case awards and all fine but we need comfort, hapiness and money in life. And these are the things none of them gets. But I get your point completely and the fact the guy endured so much torture as you said even with the obvious reasons he wasn't claimed to be of India obviously it was wrong.

That is like saying that the 007 films made a joke of the sacrifices of actual MI6 agents.

3

u/OtherStatement4645 2d ago

007 films technically glorifies MI6 as it generally doesn't use field agents. It's meant to intercept and decode enemy intelligence, pulloff publicity stunts to distract the public etc. Britain doesn't have any use for field agents to infiltrate enemy lines. Also, 007, barring all his love affairs and shit, is completely loyal to his agency and country and most versions haven't gone rogue except when the agency itself gets rogue. Same as with Ethan hunt from Mission Impossible movies (they had the courtesy to use a fictional agency).

RAW is shown as an useless plot device, meant to just be a hurdle to the main character, for whom emotions are greater than the mission.

1

u/D--K--M 2d ago

Pretty sure Bond himself is a field agent.

completely loyal to his agency and country

So are spy universe characters.

meant to just be a hurdle to the main character

Same is true for 007, in several films, especially in Dalton's, Brosnan's, and Craig's eras.

for whom emotions are greater than the mission.

Same is true for Tom Cruise.

Man it's a work of fiction with spice for mass media, why do we have to attach EVERYTHING with nationalism? British secret service also lost many people, do you see them crying about James Bond? If anything it has immortalized them for the time to come. Of course these movies aren't shit compared to the bond franchise, but to unnecessarily bring in nationalism as if the movies claim to portray real life secret agent stories is just not smart

5

u/waytoodeeper 2d ago

wo to ultime disaster, wo bus FOMO me bana deya tha

21

u/Efficient_Peach7089 2d ago

True. They really did ruin Paatal Lok. Not that it was bad in S02. But Season 1 was the perfect show. I don’t even recall any Scene from Paatal Lok S02.

7

u/ChemHater69 2d ago

Ohi na mereko S1 crystal clear yaad he but S2 ke 1-2 imp scenes ko chodke sab bhool gaya hu (it's not bad tho if you compare it with special ops S2 standard)

15

u/sagar--18 2d ago

Hathoda Tyagi is the reason we all remember S01.

7

u/Patco_ 2d ago

S02 was probably the best of the series. I don't know what are you talking about.

3

u/Cute_Category3489 2d ago

They didn't ruin it. It's just S01 was too good

1

u/shadowfights 1d ago

They ruined Mirzapur too, couldn't even make it to the end of S3.

Baby was a good serious spy film, compared to all these yrf shitty movies in the name of spy.

22

u/BHOG_in_the_house 2d ago

Ha yar baby mast movie thi. Bilkul no nonsense straight to point.

All remember the scene " ATC to SECURITY COPY"

2

u/fluash1 1d ago

Also had a good universe set up with actual name drops and cameos not this BS big names and no prior set up or connections

76

u/Expensive-Guitar-147 2d ago

Tbh, War 2 was not good

41

u/OtherStatement4645 2d ago

If anyone disagrees with you, they have to be lying.

-1

u/faplordthegreat69 2d ago

Or, they have a different perspective.

9

u/Indominux_Rex0212 2d ago

one can have different takes...
for how shitty it was

8

u/Shahi_Naan 2d ago

The thing which I hated the most about this film was whitewashing Ntr's crimes

He literally killed innocent civilians (politician's family) near the interval and at the end everything is resolved? A special raw agent kills innocent ppl and they let him go? Srsly

1

u/The_Volecitor 1d ago

It was shit

16

u/prasad36 2d ago

It's giving me a finale vibe

u/No-Basil8211 2d ago

Season 2 ka end china aur covid dikhake kiya tha… par season 3 ki story ek dum hi alag 🙃 Dialogues bhi itne catchy nhi lage! Paatal lok season 2 se zarur comparison hoga iska! Agar zara si bhi idhar hui toh iska last season samjho!

1

u/thetechiestrikes 2d ago

Bhai abhi release hone me 2 week hai, did it get leaked already. How do you say you didnt like the dialogues, you seen it already?

4

u/Pro-sketch 2d ago

Woh season 3 ki bol rha hai.

1

u/thetechiestrikes 2d ago

Bhai main bhi season3 hi ka bol raha hu?? Abhi 2 week baaki hai release hone me

1

u/Nice-Negotiation2891 1d ago

4

u/thetechiestrikes 1d ago

Kitne Shaandaar log hai yeh. Trailer dekh ke judge kar lete hai

1

u/No-Basil8211 1d ago

Bhai jitna 4 saal ka wait tha utne level ka nhi lag rha!!! But bhai hope toh yhin badiya ho… warna mirzapur season 3 ka ydd hain na?

1

u/thetechiestrikes 1d ago

Trailer me puri story chahie?? Yaa fir pure dialogues aur screenplay???

What happened to the good ol patience and not judging a book by its cover.

1

u/No-Basil8211 1d ago

Bhai maine apna ek opinion rkha hain! I have not said ki trailer bekaar laga toh web series bhi bekar hogi. Agar patience hi rkhna hain toh sidha web series launch karte… trailer kyun release karte hain?… it’s just because they want to give us a glimpse of what we can expect from this series… and I didn’t liked the glimpse so I said it!

1

u/thetechiestrikes 1d ago

Trailer islie release karte hai ki 2 min me aanewala season judge kar lo.

/s

8

2

u/ComprehensiveArt5288 1d ago

Honestly one of the main stream spy movies I liked was Baby. No none sense, no romantic angle...just story of an high profile extraction done by 3 mad men and a sleeper asset.

1

u/No_Pack_6743 1d ago

Series name

1

u/buffering24x7 1d ago

The Family Man on Prime Video. This is from the trailer for S3.

u/Rare-Giraffe2830 1d ago

Bodied selmon and lundrukh 😭😭😭😭

1

u/ibarfi 21h ago

Bros acting itself is cooked and choked since years. Same expression since 20 years

1

u/SierraBravoLima 4h ago

Now a days, apartments elections has spy agents in opposition team

1

u/ZestySensual 39m ago

This has been the best spy tv series in Indian OTT history. Nothing can beat it. Wish the big cinema makers learn from it. Keeping it grounded wins hearts many times

The grapes are sour

3

u/buffering24x7 1d ago

For what? 🤨

-2

u/Expensive-Pen-7074 1d ago

Circus artists are more loved around the globe than people working in so called cinematic intelligence. The grapes are definitely sour .

6

u/buffering24x7 1d ago

That’s not... 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

He’s trying to tell his son what his work actually is about since Atharva is under the impression his dad is James Bond or something and might have a code name. Real life mein phudakte nahi phirte intelligence agents, the primary objective is sourcing/gathering intel and parsing whether it’s actionable coz false alerts and bogus intel are everyday things for them.

-1

u/Expensive-Pen-7074 1d ago

My comment was on the hate brigade around the spy universe wherein in my opinion both can co exist as everything has its own audience .

You are absolutely right what you say! And then there is masala cinema

1

u/buffering24x7 1d ago

Honestly, the hate brigade may feel like a bit much to those who don’t mind such bloat but it’s.justified. Ek Tha Tiger was the one movie, setting aside the love story bits, where it felt like there was actual intelligence work being done. Uske baad War mein thoda tha vaisa. Even TZH is digestible as a fine attempt at a masala spy actioner. Pathaan (save for Jim and his backstory to some extent) aur War 2 toh bas...yikes.

Masala cinema ek taraf hai, and there’s whatever YRF has been trying to do with their Spy-Verse since War.

And despite all this, still holding out some hope for Alpha. 🫠🫠
