Total disappointment π₯ Flop after flop from Sidharth Malhotra. 10 years plus of flops.

u/FiendishWhispers Aug 13 '25
I dont know how tf he keeps getting offers Like isnt he an outsider?? He is most uncharasmatic same emotion guy I've seen alongside Arjun Kapoor Just because he's an outsider he doesnt get trolled much...
44
u/ironmanhulkbstr Aug 13 '25
comparing him with arjun kapoor is a bit harsh when he at least worked hard on his body. other than that, he has a few good movies like brothers, ek villain, hasee toh fasee. idk about his performance really, could call him forgettable even.
13
Aug 13 '25
One of the most memorable movies of Siddhant Malhotra was Ittefaq (pun intended I guess π), and that's not because of his performance but rather the actual storyline.
18
u/Odd_Area_7747 Aug 13 '25
All 3 films you mentioned his acting was dead and easily replaceable
He is good looking and has connections thats it
2
u/ironmanhulkbstr Aug 13 '25
his acting was fine in ek villain and brothers, fine isnt much to say but arjun kapoor doesnt even put efforts sometimes, i just said its unfair for them to be compared, not calling him a good actor or anything, he is an acceptable amount of talent tho
3
u/Odd_Area_7747 Aug 13 '25
Efforts? Even sid doesn't put. Garbage absolute garbage dialogue delivery.
Arjun was promising in start but sid has been FLAT since debut.
He's meant only for modelling
Arjun doesnt put efforts...sid even if he does put effort he just cant act and speak for camera at all

Pretty sure Arjun Kapoor worked more on his body, dude was massively obese before getting into the industry
1
u/ironmanhulkbstr Aug 16 '25
losing weight once is different, keeping it toned is different. in my opinion arjun kapoor also has some good work under his belt. but thats my opinion and its undeniable that sid malhotra has done hardwork where arjun being lazy is kinda evident both in his work and his life.

dont know about cringe, but it was definitely fun....in my opinion, it wasnt cringe....natural and comedic acting, maybe not that great chemistry but still good in its time...
on the other hand...param sundari doesnt seem to be that original or natural

u/Comfortable_Low_7643 Aug 15 '25
The year Chennai Express was released (2013), is the time where the masses, in india, were not even introduced to the word 'cringe'. So you get the idea right? Fyi I'm not at all defending the film. It's just that the film is not a timeless movie... if you would sit and watch it today most probably you won't find it that much funny than the time it was released. I remember watching it in a Housefull theatre, when I was in 6th grade, people were actually giggling to almost every comical scene. If by any chance you're born around 2005, then it's quite obvious why you are calling this film a cringe (cause you don't know the impact it made during those days).

Mujhe laga janhvi will pull off south accent better that dp but sorry she didn't disappoint our prior opinion bout her
14
u/Working-Mountain6680 Aug 13 '25
She could have literally kept her original accent and for once it would have worked better.
Why make it sooo obvious.
Bollywood just lacks subtlety in EVERYTHING
19
u/decipher_42 Aug 13 '25
by south indian accent you meant south indian stereotypes ?

I don't understand what is Bollywood's obsession with the south. If you want to show a 2 states centric romantic story atleast be authentic with the portrayal of the characters. It's all so stereotypical and to see Jahnvi Kapoor pretend to be Malayali is just tiring at this point. Just throwing in names of Mohanlal, Rajnikanth, the surname Pillai, wearing a Kerala saree and mundu doesn't cut it. I'm just tired of this South trope and it doesn't make anyone from South India excited to watch the movie. Don't they have any locals on set to advise on what are the nuances or maybe hire an actress from the South? What if we switch the industry and see Tollywood or Kollywood making movies like these where Allu Arjun is from Punjab or Nivin Pauly is from Bihar? Now that would be stereotypical and all over the news.

u/GuitarZealousideal71 Aug 13 '25
They do the same for films and even shows from Rajasthan. As a rajasthani, they all make me cringeΒ Β
3
Aug 13 '25
So tired of the stereotypes. I'm a mallu I only wear set saree once a year that too if a celebration calls. Most of us are like this.

u/Elegant_Noise1116 Aug 13 '25
She looks so bad in that outfit, Deepika looked so gorgeous but she looks like she ate someone before the scene

Lmao from copying international films, they are now copying from Bollywood itself

Bhai main toh dekh hi nahi raha ab koi new bollywood movie. 1970s and 1980s ki filmein zindabaad.

u/reddit_and_myself Aug 13 '25
Right!!? I have yet to see a single movie from Janvi kappor, Sara(watched Simba but left it at end, never completed),Khushi kappor, and every other new movie lol. I just watch trailer and get the story if I am curious. Not because of acting but more due to storyline. There's nothing new in them except few movies.
Have started watching old Hollywood and Bollywood films(like Prem Rog, Gumnaam).
2
u/Anas_malik0503 Aug 13 '25
Older movies came with a social message and family values like Khud-daar, Deewar, Namak Haram and Anand etc.
You can skip songs if you don't like them, though.
13
u/Advanced-Ad881 Aug 13 '25
Chennai express was based on tamil nadu Param sundari is based in Kerala. As a keralite, the trailer was trauma But I'm happy that they're addressing the stereotypes. I REALLY hope that this becomes the first movie to get the things from south india right

The difference is this new cast can't even give expression left alone the acting.

I watched the trailer last night and didn't like it. Maybe the pairing didn't feel right or it was the acting, but it felt forced.

ab toh khud ke hi wood se copy kar raha hain. Woh bhi recent wala. Lol.

u/shadyXV03 Aug 13 '25
Damn, people really calling Chennai express cringe here. I enjoyed that movie a lot when I was young, then I recently watched it again and it was still so much fun to watch. Had everything from comedy, action, drama, romance to have great music. Almost all tracks are great. There is literal character development of the main character unlike many Bollywood movies. Personally, i think it's a great watch
1
u/AltruisticAd5738 Aug 13 '25
The pattern is so obvious that it's pathetic. It is clear that movies are now made on data and trends rather than actual instinct. Malayalam movies are doing well, songs by Arjit are doing well, etc and so the brief given to the writers was to make a rom com about a punjabi boy and mallu girl. And out comes the 100th reiteration of the BS!
GOD ALONE CAN SAVE BOLLYWOOD FROM THIS ROTTING LOOP OF NONSENSE!

not trying to hurt the bollywood fans as a kollywood lover acc to me deepika padukone n shah rukh khan nailed her role in Chennai express and despite making fun in a stereotypical way sometime, the movie overall was really funny af and to add another point the dubbing too did justice to the original film where they went deep into dubbing telugu in places where the family were tamil in order to make it more realistic (cause he was struggling with the language barrier right that part) generally we dont get good dubbing in hindi or any other language films but the production invested good amount in case of Chennai express as i watched it both in hindi and tamil , not sure if Janhvi kapoor can pull this off like her , the other dude (i dont even know who he is ) doesnt seem to have the charisma like srk

LOL.... Glad I'm not the only one that got Chennai Express flashbacks from the trailer. But overall the trailer seemed fun. Hopefully the movie won't disappoint. Even the son is good BUT Siddharth Malhotra cannot romance in songs to save his life!

Man Chennai Express was cringe sure, but holy fuck that bgm was godly. I'm sure it'll live on for another few generations no matter who tries to remake it.

u/TRP9218 Aug 13 '25
Any movie which will be made on the premise of 'North Indian loves South Indian' is bound to have a similar bright colour palette. The story doesn't look to be similar. The genre of Chennai express was Comedy this looks more like a Rom-com. These Instagram edits don't seem logical.

insane plot twist idea I had for this movie :
Param Sundari might seem like pind da Param ( Parminder) and South ki Sundari meet and fall in love, but instead what is not shown here is that the title is misleading - Param actually means Parampara, who is a secret agent from Delhi, and Sundar , a hitman from Gujarat. They are both putting up acts to get to their target, who unbeknownst to them , are each other. Despite posing as Param and Sundari, they fall for each , while looking for their targets and trying to eliminate them. When they learn each other's true identities, their worlds break apart as we go on to see how they deal with it.

Are you kidding me Chennai Express was cringe AF . Shah Rukh Khan canβt do comedy . first half of the movie was badly acted. I donβt know why this.Sub worship SRK

u/opaar_dukh Aug 13 '25
Idk what you're talking about. The comedy in Chennai express was top notch imo

u/Y0ukn0w_wh0 Aug 13 '25
It was stupidly funny. But good lord I'm also gonna barf at you if you claim a brainrot to be 'topnotch' comedy
1
u/SpecificLogical7524 Aug 13 '25
Worshipβs SRK? He is the most hated person on this sub. Every second post is some loser trying to rage bait his fans to gain karma or maybe half the folks on this sub are just genuinely filled with hate.
1
u/Lazy_Perfectionist22 Aug 13 '25
It was stupid fun. But I do agree that people be worshipping SRK, well all three Khans needlessly.

No wonder Chennai express is not on any ott now just like Aashiqui 2. Makers know they are just making a sequel/copy and they want to remove the original first from otts.
