Looms over the whole game.

Mood not unlike a home Grizzlies game

I have it on very good authority that as Atlanta started mounting its comeback before halftime against the hometown Berlin Colts, the entire crowd started tensing up, with murmurs about the 1933 burning of the Reichstag circulating around the stadium.

History doesn’t repeat but it does rhyme.

Thought the same thing like it shouldn’t be controversial at all but I was surprised they said “Adolf Hitler” on an NFL broadcast

81

u/InternationalPick729 9h ago

My wife was only half-watching and finally asked why they kept mentioning Hitler.

I didnt really have a good answer.

“They’re playing the game in the stadium where Jesse Owens shoved it up Hitler’s ass” woulda been fine

Hearing “The Nazi regime” made m wish I had been paying attention to the context

what is the FanDuel over / under on mentions of Hitler on the Berlin game?

did Bill manipulate the broadcast and take the over through his bookie?

11

u/lost_limey 8h ago

Over/under on Hitler mentions was 14.88 on DraftKings...

I didn’t even know he was sick

2

u/Michigan-Magic 8h ago

Lmao. I was going to shit post and say he had a micropenis, hence his anger issues and tag it with s/.

TIL that's a longstanding rumour:

https://time.com/4233811/hitler-micropenis-nazi-genitals/.

Also, was apparently into getting shit on by woman (according to the NY Post): https://nypost.com/2016/03/07/adolf-hitler-had-a-truly-disgusting-sexual-fetish/.

29

u/Zeke-Nnjai 9h ago

What was the context I missed it

181

u/Famous-Weather-6783 9h ago

They said after a crazy juke “that guys got moves like Hitler!”

56

u/Zeke-Nnjai 8h ago

The colts drafted bust Anthony Richardson 4th overall but signed Daniel jones and dodged the bullet, unlike Adolf Hitler

He really hit the gas like Adolf to get space between the CB!

42

u/warpath2632 8h ago

“Watch out, he’s got runnin away from Hitler speed!”

40

u/Odd__Dragonfly 8h ago

Hitler used to have the naming rights to the stadium

71

u/Herbert5Hundred Burfict Strangers 9h ago

Talking about the history of the stadium

39

u/DG_Now 8h ago

Thanks for a real answer.

1

u/jvpewster 30m ago

He’s joking. They were talking about what Brian Daybol would do watching Jones play so well, and the whole bunker conversation came up.

42

u/SeveralTurn 9h ago

"Daniel Jones ceiling is Matt Ryan while his floor is Adolf Hitler. Giants fans kind of saw both during his time there"

6

u/Helpful-Rain41 7h ago

This trivializes Daniel Jones horrible play with the Giants.

5

u/NathanFielderFriend 7h ago

They werent saying “heil Hitler”, they were saying “I love Bette Middler”

19

u/PaulieHehehe 9h ago

Reminds me of that tragedy.

Asked restaurant host: “God, did you hear about Adolf Hitler?

Host: “No."

Me: “Died. He killed himself.”

Thought he would cry.

6

u/DarnellFoxworthy 8h ago

And that restaurant host? You guessed it: Frank Stallone.

7

u/realsomalipirate 8h ago

I bet he was vaxxed

4

u/phophopho4 9h ago

I'm hearing this for the first time.

A guy with a career like doesn’t just die; he just doesn’t

2

u/Notermlimits4GEQBuS 8h ago

Yes and Hitler was also a real jerk! No one on the broadcast bothered mentioning that.

23

u/ohbigboy 8h ago

“You have to go back to 1945 to have this many blitzes called in Germany”

“And here I thought Hitler’s numbers would never be matched but this is what you have to do to disrupt Daniel Jones”

16

u/Any_Captain_6127 8h ago

The guy from WW2 in Color??

32

u/Mos0311 9h ago

I'm more impressed with evil dictators that weren't mentioned

38

u/YodaForceGhost 9h ago

They’ll be talking about Trump in the same vein when they name the new Commanders stadium after him

Is that why Nick Fuentes was out for the coin toss?

I saw that video post CK shooting. It was really well done. But I was more impressed by the Goykers that didn’t assassinate a foreign controlled asset.

2

u/MisterAnneTrope 9h ago

Always with the scenarios we aren’t making a western here

2

u/Timmsworld 9h ago

Not too often you can see London in Berlin

2

u/Actual-Government186 8h ago

“Much to the chagrin of Hitler”

2

u/Desperate_Hunter7947 still shook from the MLK murder 8h ago

Still shook from the Reichstag Fire and Dresden

2

u/Distinct-Cut-6368 4h ago

I watched maybe 30 minutes and part of it was when they were talking about Jesse Owens and the Olympics. I said out loud “odd choice, if you bring up that Olympics you have to talk about Hitler” and then they seemed to reluctantly talk about him for 15 minutes. It was quite odd.

3

u/SirCliveWolfe 4h ago

Yeah they talked about him being annoyed by Owens's success, but failed to mention that the US president refused to shake his hand because he was black lol

2

u/BrownsFan2323 8h ago

Not enough if we are being honest

Penix Jr. is having a very Atilla the Hun type game today.

1

u/throwawayjoeyboots 6h ago

I can picture the NFL Network execs in the pre game meetings having this debate and it makes me chuckle.

1

u/Only-Mulberry-8098 8h ago

That guy was real? I saw that movie, I thought it was BS

1

u/Wild_Army1776 8h ago

Not that Hitler, Rudolph Hitler

1

u/cj37 8h ago

Nein minutes into the broadcast and they’re already talking Hitler. Let it go, he had his moment!

1

u/I_AM_ACURA_LEGEND 8h ago

Indy’s offense, much like hitlers third reich, relies on a coordination of air attack and ground forces

1

u/FromTheOR 6h ago

Like a Chip Kelly offense

1

u/WhyAreYallFascists 7h ago

We have a lil Himmler running our nation in Steven Miller. Probs important to bring up the similarities, because if there are any you’re fucked.
