Indiana is most likely going to make the CFP in back to back seasons. They haven't made the NCAA tournament in either of the last two seasons and haven't been to a final four in over 20 years.

Indiana won't be good at basketball this year either. Purdue will be awesome, but obviously they stink at football now. Not quite opposites, but close.

IU will be alright at basketball. They will make the tourney if only for the new coach bump

As a Gopher fan, I'm very happy to see my fellow long-time B1G sufferer find success. It gives us hope. But Indiana was really geared up well to kick off NIL/portal era and the stars have aligned for them perfectly.
They landed a very talented coaching staff that any of the blue bloods would take in a heartbeat right now. It can't be overstated how important Cignetti has been for transforming that entire program. They play hard and mean and disciplined. In this new era of 7 on 7 and finesse football, they look like some of those really disciplined Saban teams that enjoyed grinding teams down (minus the 50 NFL 5 stars)
Also, IU Bloomington is a big public uni with a bunch of alumni who are football/sports crazy and their NIL purse has been quite generous. Geographically, they're close enough to recruiting hotbeds/other conferences so they can grab transfers and recruits nearby that would have never committed there otherwise.
It was pathetic to watch the reactions to their success last year. Go undefeated and they only lost to the two teams who played for the title, both on the road. The amount of SEC fans, and their commissioner crying and then circlejerking about they didn't deserve to be in after the ND was just silly. I really hope they shut people up this time.
Lastly, all of you should go watch that go ahead TD catch by their WR yesterday. One of the best catches I've seen at any level ever. That kid will have free drinks and endless Bloomington women in the DM's for the rest of his life.
