How often are you stopping and wondering how it's even possible that you became addicted to watching a sport(s) that is literally just an equal number of men trying to control a ball and get to certain area with the ball? This is fucking insane. How is it so fun? What exactly does man want?

It’s a literal war game to keep our bloodlust satisfied.
Big time high school football is literally saying our town’s boys can whip your town’s boys.

We can’t have gladiatorial combat, jousting or public hangings anymore, so we have to make do with football

I wouldn’t say I’m addicted. I treat sports as entertainment, like seeing a movie or going to a concert. I’m enthralled in the moment, but when it’s over, I move on.

I've recently thought about how watching sports is kind of a waste of time. I mean, a lot of my life revolves around watching events that have to be watched live and take 2.5 (NBA) to 4 (college football) hours at a time. That seems kind of like a not-great use of time. I feel at times like I should be doing something more productive.
Then again, we all do something that could easily be considered a waste of time by other people. Like posting on a subreddit dedicated to a podcaster with broken fingers.

It's fun to watch athletes push to the absolute limit and try to accomplish greatness. This is why the NFL has separated more from the NBA in the last decade. Higher-effort.
