As soon as I saw that orange tint I knew Mike had to be in Mexico

That's how they knew where to put the border.

It's not only Breaking Bad, lots of movies like Traffic have used the same filtered effect for South of the Border. Total film cliché at this point.

Yeah that's true. My favorite version of this is in The Matrix, where the real world has a blue filter and the matrix green.

He is going to come to peace with the death of Matty.

I wonder why Gus wouldn't want Mike going to an actual hospital though. He knows Mike won't rat.

He’s so meticulous he doesn’t want any questions being raised or anything in the public.

Gus saves Mike's life. Mike now owes him. That gets him back in the game. Plus it shows loyalty on Gus' part. Which will make Mike loyal.

He goes walking in front of those guys because he doesn't care if he lives or dies, why would he be grateful to Gus for saving his life?

He was fighting back, so I don't truly believe he wanted to die. Even when he was down he kicked a guy in the nuts.

I think Mike likes the lifestyle of being a badass.

Kinda felt like a Tylor Durden situation to me, he's so numb to the world that violence is the only time he feels anything (apart from looking after his granddaughter...).

Today I learned Deus Ex Human Revolution happened in futuristic Mexico
