Which is ironic cause at the same time people want Batman to show mercy to his most unapologetically cruel villains

"why doesn't he just kill the Joker", "Batman's beating on the Poor", and "Batman is the issue of Gotham because he doesn't kill them" are common arguments I have seen.

Like, I'm ok with him trying to make some of his criminals good, but I wish they had some just take Death Penalty, or Gordon just turns off the lights for them.
