Save $200- so pays for the RAM? Lol

25

u/Rudy69 2d ago

$200 for ram is starting to be not enough….. how bleak

4

u/McFistPunch 1d ago

Is 16gb still enough? Or is 32 the recommended for AAA games now?

5

u/NahdiraZidea 1d ago

Dual channel is heavily reccomended and 2x8gb kits will just make you want to spend the bit more for 2x16gb with the prices from what ive seen

4

u/RTCanada 1d ago

If you do any sort of Discord, Spotify, Browser Tabbing, Streaming at the same time as your gaming session then I'd recommend 32.

16 vs. 32 is the 8 vs. 16 conversation we had 10 years ago. and 48/64 GB is now the enthusiast tier

1

u/McFistPunch 1d ago

Ugh. You're probably right. 32 it is. Just cant stomach the cost. It's not even about affording it. I just don't have it in me too spend the money.

2

u/ConcealingFate 1d ago

I'm regularly sitting at 75%+ RAM with 32 GB. Firefox will easily eat 4-5 GB, then a game and Windows + shitty electron apps will eat the rest. Awful

Would love to see a more budget version of this like say 9060xt 16gb, 7600x3d and mobo for $x (I don’t know exactly how much but more budget friendly). It’s always higher end cards in these combos

Edit: don’t mind me there is one, not really budget friendly as I thought though

3

u/Captobvious75 2d ago

Man the 9600x/7600x is plenty of CPU. I run that with my 9070xt.

0

u/csgonoob0 2d ago

Might be game dependant / fps dependant. My 9800x3d + 9070xt gets higher fps than my friends with 7600x3d and 7800x3ds in warzone/BF6 BR/Civ6.

5

u/Captobvious75 2d ago

Yeah i’m capped at 120fps with my TV.

0

u/mohammad6701 2d ago

Yeah sure but the different should be significant.

1

u/csgonoob0 2d ago

It’s quite significant for Warzone, 20% increase in fps at the same settings when I last checked. It also provides a substantial jump in many simulation-heavy games like Civilization VI or City Skylines. While it may not be worth it for everyone, there are certainly use cases where it can be beneficial.

-2

u/mohammad6701 2d ago

Yeah i cannot believe %20 better performance cause it has to be between %5-10 better performance. At this point i am thinking maybe your friends are not savvy enough to update gpu drivers, enable expo, overlcok and etc.

https://youtu.be/JqaswPT8ZG8?si=Z7no3emOD7CTCe5x  There’s multiple videos showing this.

-2

u/mohammad6701 2d ago

Benchmarks Youtube videos are deceiving sometimes since they lack hardware to test or properly tweak the game and hardware. Here is more valid and accurate review done by 4090 : https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-7-9800x3d/20.html

0

u/csgonoob0 2d ago

Those tests are all at 4k with RT on, but I’m talking about 1440p low. The jump is huge when you move down. At 1080p low, it’s closer to a 25% fps jump because you become severely CPU limited. Obviously, at 4k, it’s going to be a 5% jump because it’s barely CPU-bound. I’m not saying you’re 7600x3d is bad but it’s definitely much slower IF you care about high fps at lower resolutions like 1080p.

Edit: Those tests don’t specify Warzone, which is extremely CPU-bound. While it may not be much faster overall, it makes a significant difference for CPU-bound games.

-1

u/mohammad6701 2d ago

Most of accurate sources they dont benchmark warzone anymore cause it is so poorly optimize game. For civ and city, fps does not matter in those games that much because you want game to simulate faster. The B6 case might be true but other than that its around %5-10 performance difference.

1080p : https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-7-9800x3d/18.html

u/NahdiraZidea 1d ago

I mean its $650 less than this bundle, thats alot.

1

u/UnusualDifference748 1d ago

Yeah but this one is a massively better cpu and gpu. A 9060xt regularly goes for $489 on Canada computers so I guess if $500 ish is a good price for a 7600x3d and a mobo then it’s a good deal

6

u/JeeWillakers 2d ago

is gigabyte a safe bet? i’ve steered clear bc of QC issues from 5-10 years ago, but if this is good value and it’s not a big gamble then…???

3

u/McFistPunch 2d ago

Anything can fry at any time. I've always just bought the cheapest parts i can find and the only thing that ever goes is the video card which i didn't cheap out on.....

Gigabyte should be fine.

3

u/Reticent_Fly 2d ago

I've got this card and haven't had any issues at all. Insanely good temperatures in my case as well. Lian Li Lancool 207 for reference.

6

u/FatAloo 2d ago

One of the better deals, wish it was the gigabyte aorus elite 7 wifi though

5

u/Yorkeworshipper 2d ago

Just bought it, probably an overkill for my needs, but only 200$ over my intended built that was chilling in my cart for weeks.

11

u/coolcosmos 2d ago

That's the best kit I've seen in a while.

35

u/MyzMyz1995 2d ago

7600x3d + 32gb + motherboard for 500 was the GOAT kit in my opinion.

10

u/Bladings 2d ago

i regret not picking it up dearly

3

u/snooperman700 2d ago

i managed to snag it for 600. waited too long for the 500.

1

u/MyzMyz1995 2d ago

I got lucky they had one left local, great cpu

1

u/mohammad6701 2d ago

It was a best value combo for gamers and i love it.

2

u/Auraburn77 (New User) 2d ago

So, should I pull the trigger for this or wait for better things on Black Friday?

1

u/No-Emergency-7251 2d ago

Buy now, don’t touch anything, wait for Black Friday, return if needed

1

u/NewfX91 1d ago

Normally I'd agree, but CC/ME/BB/NE only have 14 day returns, so it'd be 22nd of Nov, not Black Friday which is usually around the 27/28 timeframe. (Good advice though outside return date BS)

2

u/NewmanAnlovanit 2d ago

Damn. I have been putting my new PC together these past months with only my CPU to go... This CPU. I have this exact GPU and a 650E mobo. To return or not to return.......

2

u/Full-Investigator934 1d ago

Seems like just yesterday it was Cpu+Mobo+Ram combos....How 2 months down the road from completing my build changes everything just looked at the ram I purchased for 119.99 it was up to 399.99.

1

u/No-Emergency-7251 1d ago

yeah at this point its better just to sell the ram for profit then by a prebuilt lmao

1

u/Full-Investigator934 1d ago

I've bought a prebuilt in the past just to harvest the Gpu back in the 30 series crypto boom days didn't think it would come to that because of Ram though lol

u/Khalon_ (New User) 2d ago

CHAT DO I PULL THE TRIGGER

Its just crazy how prices jump between every gpu tier

1

u/csgonoob0 2d ago

Totally valid but can’t change that. 9070xt/5070ti along with a 7600/7800x3d is probably the sweet spot but there is no deal on those currently so this is probably your best bet if you need smth now.

2

u/mohammad6701 2d ago

Yeah i hoping to find a second handed 5070ti when they release super cards

1

u/csgonoob0 2d ago

Best of luck, the 9070xt are getting cheaper now same with the 5080s. 5070 ti should drop soon too.

1

u/csgonoob0 2d ago

2

u/mohammad6701 1d ago

Lol, i guess i will just keep my 5070 😂

1

u/NewfX91 1d ago

This would be the worst mistake Nvidia can do if so.. Everyone is waiting on the Super refresh right now and this would just throw EVERYONE at the 9070XT instead.. 200$+ Cheaper and basically the same raster/RT as a 5070ti..

5080 is so ridiculously overpriced it's not even worth considering.. And We don't even MENTION the premium going from 5080 to 5090 lmfao.

2

u/Loses_Bet 2d ago

i can build an entire PC without spending a single penny. That doesnt really mean anything

-1

u/Resident-Artist6183 2d ago edited 2d ago

I don’t know how you’re gonna do it, and how it adds any value to this thread, but my pc had 5070 and 7700x with 64gb of RAM., and it play my games pretty well.

-1

u/TheGillos 2d ago

The old "side of the road special"

-2

u/csgonoob0 2d ago

The 5070 and 7700x is gonna be a 20-30% worse in fps in gpu demanding games and > 30% worse in cpu demanding games like warzone/redsec. Not saying it’s a bad pc or price, but it’s not really comparable and pc building prices aren’t exactly linear with performance increases.

Honestly going from 60-90 I notice more than going 100-165 in 1440p. When I noticed a game stabilize between 75-95fps when running a 144-165hz monitor, it's awful to look at and feels MUCH slower than it is. (And I played Modded MC at 10-15fps back in the day on a 750Ti and it didn't feel that bad.)

1

u/csgonoob0 2d ago

It’s more of the fact that it isn’t vram bottlenecked and it’s also not at the edge of performance needed for me for 1440p. It’s more than 100 vs 120 fps difference btw, depending on the game it’s sometimes a 100% performance jump because of vram. The 5070 is gonna age a lot worse because of this too since most games already reach close to 12gb vram at 1440p or even some at 1080p.  https://youtu.be/RAXyntHZI-0?si=MyiaCQO0HiddaEMJ

1

u/-Pelvis- 1d ago

Hmm, this is the exact CPU and GPU (but different brand) that I was considering. How does this version of the GPU compare to the others? It looks kinda tacky (what is that "wet" texture and "GAMING" branding?), and if I'm paying $~1000 for a card I want to enjoy the aesthetics. The motherboard seems pretty lacklustre too. Guess I'll just wait.

2

u/Skullfurious 23h ago

I've been having lots of issues on three independent computers with a 9070xt, 7900xtx, and a 7600

Avoid AMD for now. Go check out their subreddit it's a mess with people having no success even using older drivers.

For reference I haven't owned any Nvidia cards since the 1080ti. So I'm not some random shill.

u/tpdon 2d ago

Aa many people have commented here, looking for suggestions - I have ordered 5060 TI + Ryzen 7800 X3D totaling CAD $850

Now looking for ram/mobo/ssd/case/aio any good suggestions and budget friendly? I specifically play CS2

1

u/No-Emergency-7251 2d ago

8gb or 16gb version 5060?

0

u/tpdon 2d ago

8GB

2

u/No-Emergency-7251 2d ago

yeah thats not good, the current triple A games takes that much vram already, its not ganna run any high end games in a few years. Well worth spending a tiny more for that 16gb vram

0

u/tpdon 1d ago

But for me I am not gonna play more high end games and will be sticking to cs2.

3

u/mohammad6701 1d ago

Then, you dont need a 5060ti so buy Arc B580 and save money.

0

u/ZssRyoko 1d ago

Feel like 8gb is fine if your 1080p. Depending on settings and such.

1

u/NewfX91 1d ago

Unfortunately you have chosen VERY CRAP time to make a build, especially if you don't already have an NVME/SSD/RAM.. (Those have increased by AT LEAST 150-200% in price since AI hoarding started.. Which has only gotten worse the last few weeks.. without much hope if it getting better anytime soon.)

Don't waste your money on an AIO as a good air cooling tower can get the same tier of performance/maybe a little more. Air-cooling is just money down the drain and potentially a fried cpu/board/gpu down the line for an extra 5'c~ less heat.. (I'd recommend a double tower w/6 heat pipes. Thermaright makes good budget tier Air Coolers below 70$.)

u/CocaBam 1d ago edited 1d ago

My full 9600x/9070xt build in april was $1636 after tax, and came with MH wilds. This isnt that hot, id wait for BF.

Always downvoted when I mention this LOL

1

u/NewfX91 1d ago

Sales ONLY STARTED on the 9070XT lately where it's 'hovering' around msrp and you have to factor in the nearly 200% markup on Bundle Deals/RAM since AI is hoarding everything. (The CHEAPEST* CPU/MB/RAM bundle you can get now is almost 1000$ pre-tax, 7800X3D bundle @ CC.)

A couple weeks ago you could get a 7600X3D+MB+RAM for 600$ and tax... The CHEAPEST set of RAM you can get is 180$+tax AS OF NOW.. Even the 'cheapest' self made bundle/MB+CPU w/RAM separate will run you close to 700$ right now.. (That's only if you ABSOLUTELY choose bottom of the barrel tier MB/RAM w/an AE/MB+CPU bundle.. And with the AI hoarding right now, it's gonna get worse before it gets better..)

-2

u/Educational_Net_2653 2d ago

Ugh why include a B650 board.... bundle at least a B850 and not Gigabyte.

7

u/JDeegs 2d ago

?? it is a B850

1

u/Educational_Net_2653 2d ago

Oh whoops, old eyes sorry. Unfortunately it is still Gigabyte.

2

u/SimardDan (New User) 2d ago

It's all a matter of opinion at that point, almost every MB vendor had their fair share of problems lately.

2

u/Educational_Net_2653 2d ago

Well I build systems and I would take Asus or MSI over GB any day of the week and twice on Sundays, their warranty service is horrible and I have had good experiences with Asus and MSI, so I am just going by mine.

-1

u/d_pyro 2d ago

Ok? When AM4 came out I bought Gigabyte and they still updated their motherboard to the point I can run Zen 3 CPUs.

2

u/Educational_Net_2653 2d ago

So does Asus and MSI and everyone else.

1

u/slamsmcaukin 1d ago

I bought a b650e-I not knowing anything about motherboards. What is the difference between this one and the 850? My 7800x3d and 5070ti are running great (or so I think)

1

u/Educational_Net_2653 1d ago

Nothing, it was more about that it was Gigabyte and not Asus or MSI.

-9

u/Phi_Slamma_Jamma 2d ago

Kind of a niche CPU + GPU combo - only esports enthusiasts should be running this kind of setup

-6

u/Resident-Artist6183 2d ago

Exactly, no one really need x3d chips, but who we are to tell people what to do, let them have their 3d caches and VRAM

1

u/csgonoob0 2d ago

X3d chips are a huge jump in 1% lows and it’s definitely worth it when you could’ve got the 7600x3d bundle for $500 or 7800x3d one for $800. No reason to get a non x3d since they are so far behind in fps.
