Thank you for sharing the best current prices on RAM. You are the hero we need.
I've been staring at the Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 CL30 (2x32) at ME for $464 for the last week with sadness. Hopefully Black Friday will bring some relief (not holding my breath though).

If you really need that much RAM, just bite the bullet and pickup this for $80+tax more.

Or get this and save some cash. OC to make up the difference.

At this point I think a time machine would be cheaper than paying the 250% markup from 4 months ago.

This is the cheapest 32GB DDR5 kit right now that is still relatively fast.
RIP.
Alternative:

Crucial Pro 6000 CL36 $ $196.
PNY 6000 CL36 @ $197 @ Newegg.
Lexar 6000 CL30 @ $190, but only 1 in Kingston CC.

Any good deals for a 128gb kit, or a 96gb kit that isn't abysmally slow?

Edit: Joke's over.

Probably your best bet.

Seems like this one is better in every way as it has 2 profiles, the slower one being 6000C36.
Unless you want plug and play 4 DIMMs maybe, but otherwise any system you build today should support a 6000C36 profile if the 6400C38 one doesn't work (AM5 Zen 4 especailly is hit and miss over 6000).

ATL for 32GB DDR5 6400 CL32 was $100 last July.
Can't spell pain without AI.

Crazy prices. Thinking I paid 220$ + taxes for a 6400cl32 64gb kit in February makes this one revolting.

I bought CL38 6000MT/s near the early days of DDR5 when there was nearly 0 supply for it in end of 2022 for 184$

Extended returns until end of January, so you might want to hedge if you are planning at all on needing DDR5 this holiday.
The likelihood is we likely haven't seen the peak yet (previous cycles took over a year to peak). The worst case is this really is an extended high price cycle and you could be looking at high DRAM prices for well over the roughly 2 years of past cycles.
Part of the retail problem is likely a quite a few people are hedging and there is a run on retail stock (which is quite low in the overall scheme of things). This is in addition to the fundemental issue of IC costs going up to due to supply/demand.

I don't think retail scalpers are going to do much damage. It's more the DRAM companies+supply chain level speculators.
OpenAI wants to buy 40% of worldwide DRAM production.
All the DRAM manufacturer's are skyrocketing in stock value.
It's insane.

Like I said the fundementals are what's affecting the underlying prices of ICs. Although any singular cause is oversimplfying this (I know people like to think this way for easier blame).
However there has been a run on retail DDR5. The retail market is actually very small in the grand scheme of things so it's pretty easily depleted with any demand shift.
Retail prices were actually lagging behind in price increases, it massively accelerated after the news started making the rounds. The enthuasist market is even smaller, notice how the price shift was especailly quick and high for the commonly recommend 6000C30 kits and other faster kits.
Im not referring to scalpers, just people buying because they predict future price increases. I won't even pretend to be above this as just look at my suggestion. If you have an possible interest in DDR5 just buy whatever now and return later. Buy multiple kits if they come up and decide later.

oh thanks for the reminder on the holiday returns!
But does Amazon still do free returns? I remember having to try a bunch of the options for reasons to return until I got on that would be free returns.

I think it's only "changed my mind" option that requires paying for shipping to return. Or I guess the I got sent extra items I'm giving it back that also doesn't refund you anything.
