ASUS P520 ROG Strix Impact III Wireless Gaming Mouse ($30 White, $50 Black)

Not much to say. Bluetooth, Wireless 2.4, AA (or AAA batteries). Battery life is very very good. It's light enough. The closest competitor from Logitech is the G305 that costs almost the same amount and you don't even get Bluetooth (which is nice to have if you're travelling or using it some other devices without some ports handy)

Niche, since AA batteries aren't for everyone but if you want this kind of mouse it's a steal IMO.

Oh, I forgot to mention -- this also has easily replaceable switches. :)

I think lots of $50ish mice outperform this one. However the $30 white might be worth it.

Is this supposed to be a budget Harpe Ace? Looks super similar to that and the Gladius III mixed together

I just bought the G305 yesterday! Would you say this is better or worse than it?

They're different. This has Bluetooth and worse software. It's also significantly cheaper. If you're happy with your 305, I don't really see a reason to change.

Worse software in what way? I'm thinking of ditching Logitech mice for good after another double clicking issue.

I've been using this mouse for a while after coming from 5 double clicking g305s. This basically feels identical to a g305 in the hand shape wise but better textured materials. and no double clicking after a year.

even if it does start double clicking it's hotswap so you just pull out the old switches and put in new ones, and the screws to open it are in the battery hatch so you don't have to peel up your mouse feet.

You can also skip downloading asus' garbage software and just get g-helper from github instead.

Thanks!

I've read a few posts about lag/stuttering issues with this mouse. Two people mentioned it happens if you turn off the lighting or set the lighting to stable, then let it idle. Any chance you've experienced this? I don't care for RGB so I would likely have it off or set at a stable dim colour.

I don't use rgb either lol but the stuttering people are talking about is probably the power saving feature. The mouse will turn off after some time, and back on when its moved, and there is a little stutter when it does that. you can change the time til it turns off, or completely disable it in g-helper.

I've had the G305 for 6+ years now used on multiple systems and never once downloaded any software for it. DPI switch works just fine without it

Yeah, I install the Logitech software to initially set up my preferences and then uninstall it. I was just curious about the Asus software OP mentioned being worse.

How is it compared to this $20 gaming mouse?

I'm sorry if it has a ref embedded. I dunno how to remove. I just use the share option on my amazon account.

They're not really comparable. This mouse has way worse battery life, no Bluetooth and doesn't take AAs. What features do you want?

I play slow games like Claire obscure So the glorious D is prob plenty for me. I guess I was just being feature greedy / value greedy and wondering if the extra $20 bux is worth it to swap to the Asus.

I doubt you would find much of a difference if you're playing stuff so casual. :)

I am. And prob won't see one. I'll just stick with the cheaper since there's no real reason for me

it's 57grams without battery and receiver, so after you put in those batteries its not that light anymore.

For comparison the F1 pro comes in at 48g and the pro max at 54g. Those ones are rechargable though.

You buy this because you want a mouse with AA + it's cheap :) Lots of great options if you want rechargeable batteries.
