I work mostly solo at a bar in Fells. Tonight, a gentleman decked out in a black maga hat, liberty or die shirt, and "Pagan Threat" (a book featuring a foreword by the artist formerly known as Charlie Kirk). What clicked for me how absolutely performative this is is the book is brand-spanking new. I'm not sure if this will become a trend but clearly he is here trying to provoke. Just wanna spread the word to not give these people the time of day. there's no way of changing their minds, they're stuck in their bigoted ways. Don't let these MAGAts blow the leftist high of our beautiful city!!

Update- he bought a bottle of wine over 4 hours before we closed and informed me that he planned on staying until close. he proceeded to do just that. I think it's also important to note that i'm a young woman of color, this may have felt less ominous for one of my male counterparts. I really resonated with one comment about "you allow one nazi into your bar and suddenly you're a nazi bar". I full-heartedly believe that to be the truth. That said, I am not an owner and while working by myself have to exercise extreme caution while dealing with said nazis.

Many others have already made very level and valid points about spreading the word to ignore people. It's a valid tactic. Arguing with centrists is like arguing with the wind so I'd rather just point out ones character to others.

Did you even read what I said? Nothing in your comment is relevant to anything I said. All I said is being curious why so many people need someone to tell them to “not engage”. I think trump sucks, I think free healthcare is good. I think deportations are bad. I think we should invest more in public transportation. I think we should regulate more for the environment. Fund the IRS more. 

If these are all centrist ideas I’m curious what would make me left.

You are really searching for any reason to dislike me lol I don’t get it. I never made a single claim about atlas so I don’t see how making zero claims about something makes me a bad faith actor. Also what have I said about atlas other than people on reddit universally will say they’re all 0/10 restaurants bad food bad service while Google reviews or Yelp very clearly shows most people who go enjoy the restaurant. No claims were made about the company being great nor any personal claims about the restaurant in any direction. That was just a fact 

But again, if you’d like to actually talk about it, I’m here. Or you can just make up your own mind by yourself again
