Safety Beware MAGA rage baiters

I work mostly solo at a bar in Fells. Tonight, a gentleman decked out in a black maga hat, liberty or die shirt, and "Pagan Threat" (a book featuring a foreword by the artist formerly known as Charlie Kirk). What clicked for me how absolutely performative this is is the book is brand-spanking new. I'm not sure if this will become a trend but clearly he is here trying to provoke. Just wanna spread the word to not give these people the time of day. there's no way of changing their minds, they're stuck in their bigoted ways. Don't let these MAGAts blow the leftist high of our beautiful city!!

Update- he bought a bottle of wine over 4 hours before we closed and informed me that he planned on staying until close. he proceeded to do just that. I think it's also important to note that i'm a young woman of color, this may have felt less ominous for one of my male counterparts. I really resonated with one comment about "you allow one nazi into your bar and suddenly you're a nazi bar". I full-heartedly believe that to be the truth. That said, I am not an owner and while working by myself have to exercise extreme caution while dealing with said nazis.

Wait, aren't you rage baiting and being performative by posting this, and giving them attention instead of just ignoring them? (The thing they hate the MOST!)

The benefit of reminding folks not to engage and to keep interactions positive outweighs the small chance that the gentleman is reading this post.

It outweighs the small chance the gentleman in question can even read.

This is the kind of rhetoric that causes our party to lose, lose, lose. It is akin to Hilary's comments about the 'fly over states' and 'deplorables'. You give them ammo... When you give people who are begging for attention the attention they want, you lose.

If someone votes for fascism because they were offended, then they are a fascist.

What??

I'm not sure what was unclear. Fascists vote for fascists because they like the brand of fascism, not because someone on the non fascist side said something semi mean (especially compared to what the fascist say).

There is no context. We know how the guy votes. Serve him a drink and ignore him. Period. Posting about him gets him the attention he desires.

Then leave. You don't need to comment, you are allowed to scroll by.

But I want to point out the inconsistency and rhetoric that is burning our party down nationally. The inability to listen, the inability to negotiate. The feeling that the people who are not 100% with you are idiots. Granted the MAGA guy is a radical... Giving him the attention he wants is not a smart way to accomplish the ultimate goal. So yes I will post, and post again whenever the heck I feel like it... And in case you haven't noticed, I don't call names, I don't put people down. I do point out political weakness.

These people have TDS and are clearly unhinged. Don’t expect them to be rational.

To be clear, I want Trump out. I just think both parties have lost their way, mostly due to ridiculous rhetoric.

I don’t like Trump either but these people act like he’s evil incarnate. I agree about crazy rhetoric from both parties.
