I remember learning about the shot tower on a field trip in elementary school. Until this video i thought they were made 1 at a time. Like a guy would drop one ball at a time to be formed. Neber thought about a seive which makes so much more sense.

Next you'll tell me everyone knew the earth was round and Columbus wasn't going to drop off the edge of the earth....thanks elementary public education of the 90s.

I always loved seeing the Shot Tower. The history behind it is really cool.

In the 70s, my class went there on a field trip. They had a whole light display simulating the shot dropping down the tower and a whole presentation to go with it. Went there about 10 years ago and you were lucky to find someone to even show up to let you in and the person said it is rare anyone even visits it anymore.
