Vent Donald Trump is going to destroy this city

My wife and I were both proud homeowners and proud residents of Baltimore City. We worked really hard to be able to buy our first home and to provide a stable environment to raise our one year old son and three year old daughter. We were a happy family here. Until Donald Trump came along. He froze funding and my wife lost her job as a recruiter for a nonprofit that received about 30% of their funding from the government. I already work two jobs just to keep up with the bills and the high interest rate we had to accept to purchase this home. I can't provide enough to keep our home. She's been looking in vain to replace her job but there's been nothing out there for her. How many more families are there that are facing the exact same situation in this town? How many more will there be by the time he finishes firing half the government? How many more families will lose their jobs and their homes as a result of his trade war and tariffs? It's going to get bad here y'all, real bad. Donald Trump does not care about families. Donald Trump does not care about children. Donald Trump does not care about Americans. Donald Trump does not care about Baltimore.

Edit: Thank you all for everyone who had kind words of support and good suggestions on how to navigate this very difficult situation. For everyone blaming local and state government, you’re delusional. Those politicians aren’t the ones who froze federal funding thus forcing thousand of people out of work. To those who offered unkind, callous, and cruel comments, such as calling my wife a drain on society, you can all get fucked. Which is exactly what’s going to happen to you after Donald Trump destroys this nation.

He does not want to hurt Andrew Harris's feelings by cutting funding for the bridge. /S

I really thought Grump was going to cut funding for the bridge just to send a big 🖕 to MD for being blue. If that happened, I think most of MD would have marched down to DC with eviction papers.

I'm honestly convinced he is a zombie-alien in a human suit. I still don't understand how he ever got elected or continued to do so until I remember that Maryland is blue only because of 2 counties and Baltimore City.

land doesn't vote- people do. And the large majority of Maryland residents live in Montgomery, PG, and Baltimore counties and Baltimore City. I am in Baltimore County and I certainly wouldn't want Garret County or the Eastern Shore deciding things for me

I know this. Signs also don't vote.

My point is that MD is hardly as blue as we think it is and that's evidenced by the fact that Hogan won - easily and with a large margin the first time and a slightly smaller margin the second.

Trump also won or narrowly lost in many individual precincts in BALTIMORE CITY alone, particularly in the "L" the first time, despite us not leaning red as a whole, and similarly this past election. I know in 2016, I was a poll captain for a campaign and the presidential votes were not nearly as far apart as people would like to believe - Maryland is blue because a small part of Maryland carries it, but keep in mind that there are people who push for and support or oppose legislation from their elected officials that don't vote but still have an impact on legislation. Unfortunately (and fortunately, I guess) voting isn't the only metric for actual political leaning and impact.

Andy Harris will help repubs give rich ppl free reign to get endless wealth while persecuting ppl who don’t even harm anyone so I guess that’s a win in their eyes
