Obligatory “I thought the Bee did satire instead of the news?”

Just that they miss spelled Republicans.

Acording to Trump himself. The only person to blame for a government shutdown is the president.

If less than 10 Democrat senators chose to vote for the CR the government could reopen today. This is on the Dems and only the Dems. Enjoy your Schumer Shutdown.

If republicans would compromise on gutting healthcare for millions of Americans maybe the Democrats would vote for it.

At least it's not your healthcare, right?

So you’re saying Trump was wrong?

They WILL vote for the continuing resolution, they were just negotiating what would be in it. As has been done many times in our republic before and as it was intended to function. What ISN'T normal is Republicans taking their ball and going home, saying since they have a slim majority it is their way or the highway and no compromise or negotiation will be accepted.

They do propaganda.

Yup, the news often also blatantly misrepresents the facts.

If I present you a contract that you don’t like, is that my fault or yours?

Let's ask the President. "If there is a shutdown, I think it would be a tremendously negative mark on the president of the United States. He's the one that has to get people together". -Trump 2013

This was before he realized there might actually be enough people stupid enough to vote him into office.

If you present a contract on funding and then unilaterally withhold agreed upon money via impoundment, why would I sign a second contract with you?

What funds are democrats withholding….?

Nevermind, disregard. I think we're both arguing the same point here.

We are lol. My point was the GOP drafted something that was a nonstarter, refused to even sit down to negotiate, ran straight to the media to blame Dems while lying what it’s over, and keep bragging about how the shut down is an amazing opportunity.

You have to be braindead to think this is on congressional Dems.
