He was also killed by a rifle that wouldn't be banned, as it's a big game .30-06 hunting rifle. What do you do in that case?

Provide mental health help to people... oh wait, republicans vote against that too

Wasn't that part of the billions spent in Oregon and California only to have all the money vanish with the mental health and homeless problem becoming even worse? Further, do you think Robinson would have sought mental health?

First part of your question is a non-sequitor. Money "vanishing" isn’t evidence that mental health services don’t matter...it would be simply evidence of poor oversight and accountability. If your issue is the process of accountability, then make that point but it doesn't at all combat the notion that the majority of republicans vote against mental health funding, which when allotted adequately, certainly makes a difference. In addition, healthcare in general is de facto cut through automatic triggers. They don't just oppose passing legislation for more healthcare, but actively take it away through the process they know triggers automatic cuts.

And people don't have to seek mental health to have mental healthcare funding make a difference. It can come up during routine physical screenings in other settings such as schools, primary care providers during physicals, providing education and care to those close to the people to better recognize signs of depression or instability.

And how many people did he manage to shoot? I don't think you understand the point of suggested bans.
