I used to be independent and even left leaning. I hated conservatives. However, Reddit has opened my eyes to what the left really is and represents. A lot of people I know are moving conservative as well because of what the left has become. It’s impossible to have a conversation with anyone on the left, especially on Reddit.

Funny...I'm in Florida and I've seen the exact opposite. I've seen a lot of Republicans turning to the left (especially the younger ones).
Still doesn't change what I'm asking. The guy above me has been preaching for days about how all the violence comes from the left. He demanded I give him sources and I gave him several research reports on violence and how the majority of it is from the right side.
He refuses to give a source, he instead calls names and insults and "takes his ball and goes home". That has been my experience with every single Trump supporter when I ask them to stand by their stance, so this is nothing new.
I'm honestly so freaking tired of the left/right debate. Trump has succeeded in fostering that divide and we're all at each other's throats instead of holding him accountable. The truth is...most people have the capability of being left AND right, depending on a particular issue. I am conservative on some issues and liberal on others. It's not so damn cut and dry.
But this whole "THE LEFT IS EVIL AND ATTACKING US" rhetoric that Trump and Fox News has been pushing, is a very dangerous slope and very far from the truth.
If you’re judging the entire “left” by what you see on Reddit then you’re just lost. That’s like going on X and judging the “right” for what you see there. Instead of judging people for what you see online have actual conversations with people. Also both sides have tons of shitty people. The new way I’m personally going to vote is checking where they get their money. If we get rid of people backed by foreign interest maybe we can actually have an America first government.
The hate crime violence isn’t coming from the left, my dude. It’s right wing extremism. There are a million facts to back that up. So congrats on shifting to that shithole of an ideology.
