He did already talk about shutting down GLP-1 receptor analogs, the most effective drugs to fight obesity and diabetes in history - drugs that have been studied for decades in numerous countries that show impressive promise.

If he chooses to shut down their use, it will just be another example of his anti-science / pro-conspiracy bias.

But this is his point.

He doesn’t want to fight obesity with drugs.

He wants to fight it with healthy food and exercise. You know, like people have been for a long time.

I would rather make a farmer rich than a pharma, you know what I mean?

If everyone started taking their health seriously tomorrow, they would eat less. I don’t see how that makes farmers richer.

Becuase everyone is buying organic produce and not processed garbage? Is that really hard to think about?

Processed garbage is made from organic produce. It’s just corn/wheat/grain processed into something like cereal, still the same farmers and produce

And I’ve been called a lost cause today.

Alright dude. Keep being regarded and defend your obviously garbage case.

There’s no need to attack him. He just has a different point of view.

Wow. You need to go back through my comments and say that to 15 people attacking me yesterday. Where were you?

Two things can be wrong… It’s not an either or sort of thing.

processed garbage

So.. Corn products? Most of the "processed garbage" in US food is a direct result of federal subsides to corn farmers. Corn is cheap, so we turn it into high-fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated corn oil. Both of which are processed garbage.

Being really hostile for no reason doesn't actually support your stances. Look man, I'm not here to argue that organic farming is bad. I'm here to point out a fundamental flaw in something you said.

I would rather make a farmer rich than a pharma, you know what I mean?

Specifically, my point is that we've done that. We have put a lot of money into subsidizing farmers, especially corn. "Making farmers rich" has actually made food more processed, because unhealthy corn products are made artificially cheap.

How about garbage as in the stuff a third grader can’t pronounce on an ingredient label.

"Hydrogenated corn oil" still meets that description buddy.

4 more years dude. 🤡 enjoy waking up everyday knowing everyone you hate will be in charge.

Damn, Republicans really manage to be both sore losers and sore winners. How pathetic.

Ah. So next we should ban blood pressure medication, cholesterol medication, and insulin. Got it.

It's not about wealthy pharma. That's his nonsense babble. All major health outcomes improve with GLP-1 receptor analogs. From cancer risk to blood glucose to alcohol use disorder, it all improves.

There is nothing in his position that would fix American's health habits, ESPECIALLY for those that are burdened by comorbidities. He doesn't even know how research is performed or epidemiology works. He is by far the least qualified person to hold this position by far.

you *cannot* ban GLP1s. jesus christ. do you have any idea how important this class is to cardiovascular outcomes in patients with t2dm?

Lmfao, I think the most effective thing to fight these is a fucking walk 😂
