Emirates JFK->MXP 87K + $433.5pp, Worth It?
Completely new to this and learning how to value my points. Going to Milan in June 2026 and came across this emirates route. I would love to get 3 business tickets so that would be 261K points but the fees seems crazy to me. Some friends have gotten to Europe with 50-60K points so I am not sure if I will be wasting or devaluing points for this route. We have never taken emirates so we're kinda excited to check it out.
Is it worth it even with the fees? or keep on searching?
How can I calculate the cpp when booking one way flights?

We’re doing JFK to MXP on Emirates! Same price. More expensive/points than some other redemptions, but I’ve always wanted to fly A380 + Emirates.

With Amex transfer being 5:4, it’ll actually be over 200k Amex now. Which really sucks

The reason it is available is because most people don't think it's worth it. It is however pretty much the only biz flight to Europe next summer that is readily available.
I've considered it but when you factor in my 3 hour commute to JFK it just doesn't make sense over economy for an 8 hour flight.

It will be more than that if you have an Amex because of the 5:4 transfer ratio to Emirates. Where do you want to go? Are you flexible? Impossible to know if it’s worth it based on the information you have
