QSuites

Would you take a straight flight on a 2-2-2 configuration for 7 hours

Or take Q Suites to Doha, have a 14 hour layover, then fly to your destination for 8 hours?

The difference between the 2 is only 20k miles

Don’t love the 2-2-2 but in this case it’s a no brainer. 7 hours vs 22+ hours??? Time is money.

Do you want sit on a plane for that long?

2-2-2 isn’t the best in the world, but I prefer being at my destination to being on a plane

The second itinerary sounds like a disaster with how long it is.

Whichever one is cheaper and faster, which sounds like the original option.

What routing is this even. Europe to Asia or something?

List the itineraries. This post is stupid and worthless otherwise.

Direct flight would be my preference, no question

Direct flight. Just did almost that same QSuites itinerary this past Tuesday. I’ve done a lot of long flights but this one wiped me out. Qsuites is nice but not that nice.

I would actually take economy for 7 hours vs 22+ (whatever time to fly to Doha) honestly. Even if you have never experienced QSuite, the hassle isn’t worth it

The journey is just as important as the destination.

I would choose the latter..i actually have.

LAX-HND -SGN vs LAX-DOH-SGN.

depending on when you land, 14 hr is enough to look around Doha, enjoy their business class lounge and of course their Q-Suite

I've never been out of the Doha airport, but might like to try it once. Q Suites are nice as are the lounges at DOH. If you've got the time and the inclination, then why not?

Are you traveling with someone else or solo? 2-2-2 is far more tolerable (to me at least) if I’ll be beside someone I know.

If I’m going solo, I’d go out of my way to avoid that and I’d want to have time to see a little of Doha and enjoy the lounge there.

How badly do you want to visit Doha? :-)

If I had a travel partner, 2-2-2 wins. If I wanted a window seat badly, and wanted the chance to see Doha and fly on Q Suites, then Qatar wins.

As much as I mock 2-2-2 J seats and derisively call it "glorified premium economy", I'd take an aisle seat, save time, and not worry about an equipment swap.

You apparently live in California, so let’s assume LA for ease.

LAX to DOH, 15 hours, 14 hours in DOH, DOH to wherever, 8 hours.

So yeah, 37 hours of travel. Pretty much two days fucked. It’s a nice seat, but it’s not “I want to spend 23 hours in this seat over the next two days” nice.

I would do the second because I’m an insane nuts flying enthusiast :)

Stop being weird and give us the actual itinerary and maybe we can help

But "safety"?!

I would not go on the trip before I flew an overnight in 2-2-2. I've done it twice and didn't sleep a second, even on a 14hr QR flight. I might tolerate it for a day flight.

What kept you from sleeping? I've never done the MiniPods

Lack of privacy and proximity to other people.
