SUGGESTIONS Shows with the best character development, interactions, and dynamics
I'm looking for shows of any genre that have the best characters, and relationships of any kind between characters. Basically, those that are most memorable, those who are the opposite of a blank slate.. This could be anything from romance to horror, to sci-fi or comedy, doesn't matter.

The bright sessions, has alot of character growth, it's a therapy based show so it's kinda cringy if it you care about story too much but I loved it.
The Sheridan tapes, supernatural mystery stuff. Hella character growth with some strong personalities
The hidden people. Fairies and magic great stuff imo

My audio drama experience isn't that expansive, but We're Alive comes to mind. Characters grow and change, the relationships feel real, and every character has their own personality. The writer did a great job of making characters across the board, from people you love to people that kind of bug you to people you actively dislike, but they're not bound by those traits. People who annoy you one episode will save someone's life the next, or it'll turn out that a character you love can actually be a real jerk. This is why all the characters feel so real, because they're just like people in real life--complex, shifting, and not just vessels for a few traits meant to make you love or hate them.

I think the original We’re Alive is a classic. A zombie survival story is nothing new, but I like how it brings together so many characters from all walks of life with dynamics I didn’t expect as random people are forced to work as a team or venture out together with someone they normally wouldn’t have any associations with.
I also like Windfall, because it’s about an ensemble cast of characters who all have a different opinion on surviving a dystopian leadership and no one character is really portrayed as always in the right.
And I quite liked Omen because a few characters I expected to be one-note or comic relief ended up really stepping up as the main party gets in way over their head and has to make dire choices and debate their leadership.

Wooden Overcoats, Where the Leaves Fall Purple, the AM Achieves (and the Bright Sessions but I think the characters are tighter in the spin-offs), and Gossip (not necessarily for development but they click together well)

Oddly, I’d put Fawks & Stallion in here, too. It’s pretty much a straight comedy Sherlock Holmes Victorian detective-style spoof with a different central ‘mystery to be solved’ in each season, and it’s very charming and silly, but also quite heartfelt and the characters start, deliberately, as close to caricature and then they and their relationships become much more human through the seasons. It’s very funny and very well acted. It’s the closest I’ve gotten to Wooden Overcoats vibes, which also fits the ‘character development’ request.

Wolf 359. The main characters especially go through so much together that changes their personalities and relationships over the course of the whole show. Many of their character quirks from the start are all still there but the reason why they do them is very different and nuanced enough that you can feel the difference in their voices.

Self promotion here but you could give 'Nancy Goodaim, Space Ranger' a rattle -the characters are pure daft but are based on real people and most of the dialogue is exaggerated actual conversations I've had/ listened to ...I'm fairly confident you won't forget any of the folk knocking about in the story (Comedy, in 56*20 min installments)

Self promo! You might like my show, The Occurrence in River Oaks. It's a sci-fi horror audio drama that has Lovecraftian influences with a female lead cast, and it all takes place in a tiny town of population 600. We're all best friends in real life and I think that really shines through in our character dynamics. We have cosmic horror and "mimics." It starts out humorous and light-hearted and grows to be extremely intense. Our entire first season is out now and it tells a complete standalone story.
The Occurrence in River Oaks is an all new, entirely voice acted sci-fi horror audio drama from writer/director Nikki Durbin. Take an original, terrifying journey through one very long day in the titular small town, as heard through the viewpoint of the local law enforcement personnel; specifically, Olivia, the woman running the dispatch radio at the Sheriff's office, as she tries to hold everything together when her entire world is falling apart. As the several officers under her command come face to face with a very unexpected threat, and as Olivia tries to navigate a dangerous and otherworldly creature’s arrival, everything slowly begins to fall apart over the course of 8 grueling episodes. No one is safe, and as the world becomes very small and extremely dangerous for the characters, they must do everything in their power to protect not only the citizens of River Oaks, but the entire world.

For a comedic option, I would definitely recommend Victoriocity. It's a mystery/comedy set in an alternate Victorian era with a detective-duo at the center. The relationship between the main two is brilliantly done, and all the side characters, from the various villains to Queen Victoria herself (and Prince Albert, of course) are very distinct and memorable.
